Studio One uses Elastique Pro. And you also get Melodyne.Bartone wrote: Wed Mar 16, 2022 9:10 am Anyone used/tried Studio One or FL Studio how they handle (any good compared to Ableton or Cubase time stretch)?

I love Cubase's TS algorithms now, elastique is in there now, and the variaudio / audiowarp just works so well and is integrated.
Going to be hard to move away from that , not that I intend to now anyway.

Ableton Live
Digital Performer (ZTX Algos)
Everything else uses Elastique.
Maschine+ also has great Time Stretching Algos (as good as Serato), but it's a DAW-in-a-Box. Probably not what OP is looking for, exactly.

I was thinking more how they compare to each other’s stretching qualities?

If they all use the same 3rd party timestretching algorithm (and for the most part they do), then they’re all going to have the same qualities.
Elastique Pro is the gold standard for timestretching.

My choice of host never had that function, despite a ton of user requests.
Apparently none of the ones available were of a quality the dev deemed good enough.
A big mistake on his part

Not really, only in very extremes, which is not what it was designed for, improvements haven't been massive since
Including something that is equal to other competitors (which it would be as everyone was licencing the same product) puts you on an even keel, not having it leaves you standing....

he didn't really concentrate on the audio side much at all
it was the one thing i hated.
having to switch to do any decent editing was a pita.

I was a long time user of FL Studio on switched to S1 about a year ago. FL's stretching and pitching are much much better than Studio One. Pitching down something in S1 sounds incredibly shitty, it's almost unusable.Bartone wrote: Wed Mar 16, 2022 9:10 am Anyone used/tried Studio One or FL Studio how they handle (any good compared to Ableton or Cubase time stretch)?

At one time, around DP7, the Zynaptic was hands down the best. I'm not sure how well rounded the field is these days with Logic's thrown in as well, but I'm sure everyone has caught up by now.Trensharo wrote: Fri Mar 18, 2022 10:37 pm Ableton Live

At this point, the issue is probably moot and people should just go with their DAW of choice rather than choosing a DAW based on the time stretch.
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better?

Hm. Admiral Bumblebee rates Reaper and DP with 10s and Live with a 5. For what it's worth...
