I haven't had any hassles with Monterey. And Mac OS only goes forward from here. There's no going back... future versions of Mac OS will be built on Monterey. Unless you mean to say you bought a new M1 Mac but you're never going to update its OS?

No issues with Monterey either, but I don't have every plugin in existence (quite the contrary) and no experience with Exponential Audio.

I have had no issues with Monterey. Since I have an M1 Max, it's the minimum I can run.

As for backporting - if it's an OS rather than a Logic issue, no it won't be backported.

I will remain on Big Sur until some external event forces me to upgrade, like an unavoidable application update that requires an OS update. That's typically how I handle MacOS upgrades. I've been at it from 10.0 and avoided many problems with that strategy. To get on the hamster wheel of constantly upgrading your OS to keep up with Apple is not a game that I like playing. I stayed on Snow Leopard for over half a decade because it was stable. Likely my alternate system will remain on 10.14 for another 4-5 years so I can continue to have 32-bit support.

Apple does backport patches. Typically just security patches, but they have been known to update n-1 editions of the OS.

Or... fixed ARA support?

not sure if it has been posted yet, the remaining D16 Group plugins will be released as major versions.
So a Big Sur/Monterey compatible version will be a paid upgrade.

Probably not important enough to make the jump, since there are workarounds, and it only impacts me with Melodyne in limited use cases. However if Izotope RX were to be added ARA support within Studio One, that might be significant.

Korg Opsix native and Wavestat native are Apple Silicone native

Martin Hairer’s Amadeus Pro audio editor is now Native. It’s kind of an inexpensive Swiss Army knife for simple audio editing.

Also recently discovered this: although KORG’s M1 (V2.2.1) is listed as Native, it’s audio unit version is not recognized in Logic Pro 10.7.2 under Monterey 12.3. The latest native version of Plogue Bidule does not recognize the M1 au either.

If M1 2.2.1 is not recognized in Logic, then you have some other issue. It's definitely native. Even if it weren't, it would still be recognized in Logic.

As for Amadeus Pro, it is not native. It runs "smoothly" under Rosetta 2.

Ugg. KORG is so dumb. Their KORG Software Pass doesn't auto-update, and they unless you install the latest version, opsix and wavestate don't even show up.

"All ARA plug-ins will cause Logic to crash when running in native Apple Silicon mode.
Apple will be rectifying this issue in future versions of macOS and Logic Pro.
Currently you need to run Logic in Rosetta mode."

Maybe Celemony is waiting for Apple to fix the ARA problems before they release a native update. Just speculating. It would be nice to have ARA back in Logic tho
Doubt it, as I just checkt their download site for the beta, and it states that it works fine in Studio One 5.4.1, which is also native. So it's probably an ARA bug in Logic.
