V9 is coming soon, but $149 from V6 to V8? or is that the dollar price, different from the euro price, i thought they were the same. i have the strange upgrade offer for €99 from V4.... strange, because i have V8 (and V6), sold the others...

i thought, well there was a sale for €99 earlier, i think. to upgrade.

i don't know. i got V6 as an NFR from an arturia rep (i used to work in a synthshop. the arturia people were always great when they visited) so have only ever paid for pigments and fragments. so, i may be in some weird loyalty offer tier. previously the offer to go to V8 was like $349 at best.

my hands are full still w/what V6 offers + pigments and all the other softsynths i own so i'm not particularly inspired to upgrade.

What has the normal upgrade price been when going from one version to another? I'm thinking of jumping on this cross grade from pigments but I feel a bit like it's going to be a trap.. sort of like NI with their Komplete system.

Then again, nobody is forcing me to upgrade ever, and now that most Arturia plugins are M1 native it should be sort of safe to jump in. Personally I only found a hand full of the V Collection that I liked (never been a fan of Arturia "sound") and they all happen to be the latest releases so perhaps I'm hoping for too much that they will update some of the older releases? Whatever they've been doing lately seems to have improved the sound of their emulations.

Still, just the CZ, EMU ii and OB-Xa demos were really fun to play with and getting those 3 is already well worth the 150. Then again, I need to spend another 150 on the Korg Wavestate.. so this is getting to be an expensive end of month! Damn it! :x :help:

It's a deal for anybody who has Pigments, I've been considering the deal myself as it looks to be quite good for somebody who hasn't got any previous versions

I have V6 and curious about their upgrade to V8 for $99. I'd like to pick up OB-Xa, Emu II, and Jun-6, and for that $99 is not a bad deal. Upgrade expires 4/4, I wouldn't be surprised to see V9 come right after that, and think they may be adding MPE in V9. So of course, I'm torn... Of course, V6 to V9 won't be $99 either! :)

oh that makes sense. if i find some change in the couch maybe i'll go for it.. not really in the market for new synths just now.

But now we know, it might be right before V10 is released. I say might because this is clearly an attempt to pick up grumpy gus types (such as myself) who have not bothered to bite on a $300+ upgrade from V6 to V8, without giving away the farm most days of the year. If it doesn't lure us in, I'm not going to bother, for example, then they may not do it again. So if you're feeling the FOMO, you should probably take advantage of it.

For me, V7 and V8 were both completely underwhelming compared to prior releases. V9 would have to have three new synths that are interesting to me for me to bite at $99 and I find that, and a $99 upgrade to V9, unlikely to happen. I'm only getting grumpier with age and it takes an ever bigger crowbar to get my wallet open as time marches on.

Judging from previous history, if Arturia comes out with V9 soon, your upgrade price for V9 will be at least $100 less as a V8 owner than it would be if you stay at V6. So you could bank that now, and it wouldn't cost you extra when you go to upgrade again.

When V9 does come, I would not expect to see a V6 to V9 upgrade for less than $300 for quite a while. So you could find yourself waiting even longer to upgrade. Even Black Friday probably won't see it for less than $200 this year. And time is money, as they say, so what is it worth to you to be able to use those V7+ instruments in 2022?

Anyone able to login to the Arturia software centre ? I just got the V Collection deal and cannot login to get it.

Nevermind, its a bug with the software centre.

If anyone gets it and it never signs in, just click offline activation, then go back to sign in and it works.

All these very good upgrade offers from old versions and new users will make me think hard about upgrading from v9 to 10 unless I really want the new stuff badly. Probably a good thing on reflection.

Don't base your decision on wishful thinking.
I've been waiting for them to add release velocity to more of their stuff since V4.
It hasn't happened yet, but I've still updated.

Why would Arturia add MPE to the V Collection?
Not one of the vintage synths they are emulating has MPE capabilities.

Think about it.

True but the Arturia emulations are rarely 1:1. They often contains expanded ROMs, better effects, more modulation etc and so on. And from a business perspective saying that now you can play MPE on a Minimoog because we did it is pretty powerful.
