The resonant and tonal squeaks, bangs, rattles and scrapes of 10 different gates in winds of varying strengths in remote countryside areas of Iceland. Recorded with Stille and Klang contact mics and the LOM Geofon.

77 looped files of varying lengths totalling 2 hours and 36 minutes with the option of files ranging from 192kHz/24 bit down to 44.1 kHz/16 bit.

Files are stamped with UCS compliant metadata in Soundminer.

Nice. Outdoor wind is notoriously hard to record (wind through a window or chimney is easier), but I guess gates make good pickups. Definite dungeon vibes. Around 1998 you could have sold this to every single black metal band in existence to use on their album intros.

thanks DSmolken - contact mics and resonant surfaces do make good pick ups - but also a mics and good wind shields and objects to hide behind make it possible to get some good outdoor wind sounds

no you dont have to subscribe to get the price - there will be a release price offer available to everyone on the website when it is released

bagpipe - i bet you did stumble through the website, it aint the greatest - my friend says it looks very 2002 - what with sample packs that belong back in 1998 im started to feel outdated

i am not a graphics person or web builder but i had to throw one up quick - hoping to get someone with some coherency in web design etc to completely redo it over the summer
