my track will be a winner when a soundset is ready and many guys buy it
Icarus have amazing sonic capabilities and unique detuning system, which i'm exploring now - especially for some futuristic, cyberpunk, doom stuff it's so easy to achieve fresh sound.
Top notch synth.
Cheers

Work on commercial track right now so will apply sample when register it.
Icarus is my secret weapon for quality production.
With these 9x,10x super, hyper saw systems of detuned unison voices and high quality filters,it makes producers life way more easy achieving three dimensional top notch sound.
Combination of Icarus and Sylenth1 is what i use lately a lot.
Had no time for better demo - crazy new love hit me last month barely find enough time for music production
Cheers

This is a beta for testing that still can contain bugs. If you experience problems please send us a bug report to support[ at]tone2.com.
This a vst plugin for Mac. It is an Universial Binary that contains Intel x64 as well as native ARM M1 code.
Steinberg advertises that you need VST3 plugins to be able to run vst plugins as native ARM M1 code. We have proven that this not true from the techical side. Steinberg's decision to drop VST2 support in Cubase on M1 Macs is a pure marketing decision.
Unlike what Apple suggests towards their customers it is not easy at all to port complex software to native M1. As a result, a massive number of older software-products will never get ported to M1.
Apple has been continously breaking downward compatibility for software (PowerPC, Intel 32bit, Intel 64 Bit, ARM) and we expect that they will continue to do this also in the future. If Apple should decide to drop support for OpenGL or Rosetta2 in an upcoming macOS release a massive number of plugins will stop to work. You can't say that you haven't been warned
The good news for you is that our plugins do not rely on OpenGL and we are able to port all our synthesizers to M1 native.
Requirements to run Icarus in M1 native mode:
- The CPU in your Mac must be a M1 chipset
- The DAW must support Vst plugins with native M1 (Reaper, Blue Cat's PatchWork, Bitwig, DP11, ...)
Installation:
1) Download and Install Icarus2 from here: https://www.tone2.com/download.html
2) Go to Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST and replace Icarus.vst with the one from this zip file:
https://www.tone2.com/update/Tone2_Icar ... 1_beta.zip

Will give this a go and report if I find problems. I assume you want all feedback on the Tone2 forums?
Cheers!

You can also send us an email. Don't forget to include details about your DAW and how the issue can be reproduced.
When you click on the HELP button and click on 'Show version info' you can validate that your DAW runs the plugin in ARM mode.

And:
Good news for Apple M1 owners: Today we were able to compile a native M1 version of Icarus2. Unlike what Apple claims this wasn't easy at all.
We will be able to port all our synthesizers to M1 native. The updates will be available for free in Summer/Autumn 2022.

So far the beta is working brilliantly! I'll dig deeper into it over the weekend. This is such a deep synthesizer that it will take quite a while to investigate everything that it can do and see if it all works. But just playing my own sounds and making basic tweaks seems to work perfectly.

Marcus, i get some weird phase thing. Steps to reproduce:
1) Init patch
2) Set osc1 volume to zero and phase to 30
3) Go to matrix and choose env/decay 8ms and destination osc1 volume.
4) Go to morph on osc1 and set value 50. Choose fm sine.
5) Play some short notes in the daw (like four c-5's in a row)
Doing this in cubase 11.0.41: The first two notes sound different than the rest. (Even after stop and play again)
In Renoise same thing but after pressing stop, and play again the notes sounds identical. But if i change the morph value. The same thing happens again.
Thanks!

Hello Charlie,
It's not a bug, it's a feature. Icarus has a 'smart click removal' if identical notes overlap.
Explanation:
In the patch that you created you routed not one but two envelopes to volume:
1) The default volume envelope 200ms release/decay time
2) Another decay envelope with 8ms in the matrix
Your sound does disappear after 8ms, but the synth engine will still play for 200ms. When you overlap another identical note the synth tries to a avoid a possible click, as it notices that the volume envelope is still active.
Here is how you should build your patch:
1) Init patch
2) Do NOT set osc1 volume to zero
3) In VOLUME ENV set S to 0, set D to 0.008s and set R to 0.008s
3) set phase to 30
4) Go to morph on osc1 and set value 50. Choose fm sine.

Icarus 2.0.8 (free update)
New features:
- HiDPI support for the VST3 version.
- Minor enhancements for the VST3 plugin.
Fixes:
- The VST3 plugin did not properly sync the BPM-rate.

I downloaded the Mac update and it still says 2.0.0 in the help menu. Does that mean I should download the 2.0.9 beta for mac if I want to update? (trying to fix a little graphic bug). And I'm not using M1. Sorry to be confused.
Nevermind, I think I understand that there wasn't a 2.0.8 update for Mac. Just a 2.0.9 beta which I installed and seems maybe to have fixed the graphic glitch. Not sure yet...
