Just checked, I had the same thing, logged in and it activates.zvenx wrote: Wed Mar 23, 2022 1:10 pmHaven't verified it is three months but indeed, mine just asked me to verify.maximoog wrote: Sun Mar 20, 2022 10:20 am Is it correct that the current licence model must also be reactivated every three months? I had to reactivate Avenger on Friday.
Which now makes me wonder if this is really significantly better than when it used codemeter (yes I know some people hear "codemeter" and think if the boogeyman).
It sure isn't a return to the old keyfile which I don't recall ever having to renew every few weeks/months etc.

They should have been and should be transparent about this imho.
Substiting codemeter for something that also requires 3 month reauthorization isnt that much different to me. ( yes i know some people are very anticodemeter. My issue was the after x time it needs reauthorising which whilst not difficult to do, if many or all of my over 400 plugins required this I would go back to hardware.)

Yes it's significantly better because we are no longer required to install a third party app that Vengeance has no control over that sits in your system tray and takes up resources.zvenx wrote: Wed Mar 23, 2022 1:10 pm Which now makes me wonder if this is really significantly better than when it used codemeter (yes I know some people hear "codemeter" and think if the boogeyman).
If you value the stability and security of your DAW system then obviously you want to limit the number of third party copy protection apps that are installed.
I just had to refresh and it took one mouse click to reauthorize and a couple more to reload the plugin. Not a big deal.......
Would I prefer for it not to require a refresh? Of course but at least I can use Avenger now since I refused to install the CodeMeter malware.

I use Reason so I already have codemeter. ( i also have ilok and elicenser).
There are already tons of stuff in the background of every OS taking up resources.
What happens if more developers follow this you would still be fine with it? I wouldn't. Suppose someone goes off the grid for six months to make an album away from it all?
At the very least make it re authorize in the background automatically without the user having to do it manually... They did say they would investigate such an option, I think over a year ago.

Mac M1 users - how does VPS Avenger perform on that platform? On my Mac Pro with Xeon I have to write with other synths then replace them with Avenger later, so I'd love to hear if any Mac users can play it live (~128 buffer) on M1, which might bode well for the M1 Pro or M1 Ultra...
Love the synth but it just doesn't play well (properly?) on Macs with Xeon CPUs, nor is that a platform they target/test for. I've seen smaller devs have problems there before, since they understandably save money by testing on the laptops or mid-tier Macs which use different CPUs than the pricey desktops. So if you use an iMac Pro, the 2021 Intel Mac Pro, or the 2018 Mac Pros, even though the first two are technically Xeon W processors I wouldn't expect Avenger to be able to monitor live input in Avenger with low latency.
I cannot comment on Avenger on M1 computers, but at least that's a platform where they can reproduce performance problems if you contact them about it.
I know this is an old comment but I just heard from Support (their new ticket system is a vast improvement!) and the two computers they have for confirming performance on Mac are an iMac 27'' with Intel i7 and a Mac Mini M1. No Pros.m-ac wrote: Wed Jan 06, 2021 9:46 pmI'm using a vader mac pro xeon 6 core, and it does this even at 512 buffer. Empty project in logic, nothing else running on my machine. Can I make a suggestion? Would it be possible to add a "tilt" feature for the spectral expander so that you can choose how the threshold selects frequencies. It could be centered somewhere in the middle, say 1kHz and then be a simple straight tilt with -12dB to +12dB range, meaning it would operate as a threshold offset so you could choose to make the threshold more or less sensitive towards the bass or treble regions.
Also, could you please consider adding a proper EQ band that is polyphonic and keyboard trackable. There is still no real way of tracking a simple EQ bell (for either boosting or reducing specific frequencies) polyphonically in Avenger. I know I've mentioned this many times already but you always suggest something that isn't equivalent (like a notch.. it's not even remotely the same as a bell in terms of flexibility).
Or just make the EQ bands actually track properly with keytracking in the saturation/distortion module. At the moment, they don't track normally (meaning 100% key tracking should track perfectly the key you are playing so you could boost or cut fundamentals of a sound).
This is such an underestimated feature, to be able to polyphonically track a simple EQ band. It is _super_ useful for fine tuning sounds. Lets say you have almost the perfect sound you want but there is a specific shrill frequency that happens at all key ranges. You can't cut that range with a static EQ nor well with a dynamic EQ as the shrill frequency tracks with whatever key you are playing. The solution is a simple polyphonic EQ.

Had demoed avenger earlier when it was released. This spectral synthesis teaser might get me to actually buy it this time around. Is per voice effects also planned?
