If IK's upgrade policy is the same as everyone else's why do I have issues now?jamcat wrote: Tue Mar 29, 2022 8:05 am IK’s upgrade policy is the same as everyone else’s: you need a qualifying product that can be upgraded, either an older version or a lesser version of the same title. Upgrades are cheaper than full versions because you have to already have a full version to upgrade. It’s not that difficult of a concept.
To see what particular product SKU you purchased, look at “My Orders” in your User Area. If it’s an upgrade or crossgrade, it will be listed as such there.
If you got the software as a free product as part of a promotion, it will be tied to the qualifying product that you purchased.
I re-sold more than 50 plugins without any issues!
I re-sold upgraded plugins, plugins I paid un upgrade charge and the buyer did not have to have some qualifying product.
I know that you have to pay a iLok transfer fee first via iLok manager, before selling an iLok plugin and can easily transfer it via iLokmanager, I can transfer it easily via iLokmanager. I can easily transfer PA plugins via their plugin manager and know that buyer has to pay a transfer fee.
I transfered Arturia, Softube, NI, boz digital and many more without any issues and I did not need any communication with dev beforehand.
I do not remember the price of every plugin I bought in many years or whether it was a crossgrade or upgrade or whether I bought from a dealer or whether it was raining outside when I bought it.
I might not be the most clever one, but I am also not the most stupid one.
I do not feel like ever buying a IK Multimedia product again
