Oh that’s a total pain with the installer. So if you are a subscriber, you have to install all 200 when you can only have access to 17? Ridiculous. It’s not the end of the world to delete them all afterwards, but pretty irritating.

I’d expect them to say you can’t buy native and it is subs only, but it doesn’t definitively answer the question as to whether you can buy a regular version without hardware (and get the native freebie).

Hi...I installed UA Connect.. logged in.... told it my ilok name and password.. authorised uad to have access to it.
then I went to ilok license manager app on my computer, and it had put two license (each with two activations) there which I then dragged to my ilok on mac then ilok on pc.

ITs the two original tapes, Ampeg and Studer.

Maybe the subscription has its own download, I know the native per se doesn't. Though I just learned that the native are vst3, so at least may be easier to separate than all the other 200+ of them.

EDIT: just found out the UA connect (when working properly, that is uaudio servers not being hammered

I can't get it to work at all. I have UA Connect running, I'm logged in, ilok account connected....but all it does is constantly refresh the non-existent plugin list, always landing at the same empty screen saying "your licensed UAD plugins appear here" and showing the Refresh button again.

Not a great first day-one trial, given that I can't use, well, anything!

ATM, as far as I know, you still need hardware in your account to buy UAD plugins. However, this may change (you've got to figure UA want to open up their plugins to the rest of the non-UAD owning population, so...)

What is a big strange though is the Studer is on the spark list:

but the Ampeg isn't but I got an Ampeg ilok license for the native version.

Gotta say, big kudos to Universal Audio for this. I'm really looking forward to native versions of these and appreciate them giving owners of the plugins the licenses as freebies. Class act.

My response from UAD customer support was to give them 3 business days to get things sorted out. I was told to check back in a couple days to see if they transferred my licenses. If this actually works, and I can buy UAD native plugins, that would be dope AF
