Over to the right we have G pro another all sounds in one app that probably all sounds bad
I never used it Im just judging a book by its cover. I dont feel I need to use it either because there is already a ton of shit just like it.
Then there are the thousands of sound packs or presets for synths just in case you feel your synth does not have the sound that you have no idea what you are looking for. What are you hoping to get with preset packs? You dont even know whats in that collection of magware shit.
Then there is all the subscription buffets like Reason that give you a new synth every week. No one is going to use all of those synths they are just going to scroll through the god damn presets and then close the app after they get bored.
Why so many synths!!!!! They all start to sound like junk synth builder synths that no one will download for free.
There are so many synths that people are giving away their synths hoping you will buy god damn presets for it LOL (Vital) again what sound are you looking for? Cant you make the damn sound yourself? How do you know the sound you want is in the shity pack?
There is nothing new anymore just shity subscriptions packs
What we need is a real AI Daw that you can talk to and say something like " start recording at bar 5 beat two" I dont know.
Until there is AI its probably going to be the same shit over and over.
How many goddamn guitar amp vst's do we need? All of them? Every guitar amp ever made?
Change 'we' to 'i' then try again, maybe with a point at the end (or preferably at the beginning)

the filtered version would probably boil down to CHOOS's sound-design tips (not that it would be a bad thing).crickey13 wrote: Thu Mar 31, 2022 7:43 am What we need is a real AI to browse kvr for us so that you can talk to it and say something like "filter all the nitpicking and DAW polls" I dont know.

Hi
Nothing like a good rant - surely one of the main reasons to exist post 2020?
Anyway, Market saturation is what we have and to be fair when I first came here some 20 years ago things were not a lot different. Back in the day everyone and their uncle was a developer thanks to Synthedit and the amount of time I 'invested' in demoing a constant cascade of Freebies was quite something. But one thing is certain: when you do come across a really standout piece of software (which is in the eye of the beholder - although many people will generally concur on what is a solid piece of coding) it really is uplifting, not to say fun.

There sure does seem to be a lot of “noise” but it’s really not a big deal to ignore. How many guitar sims do we need? I don’t know because I found my “perfect” one (a hardware modeler) a while ago and I literally ignore everything else. Same with all the compressors. I found a bunch, including some UAD plugins, that I really like and that’s that. I just look right past anything else, unless it somehow seems to have something “new” that might help me find something interesting. I paid for a version of Vital… not for the presets, but because I felt the developer should be rewarded for their work. Why a freebie can include MPE, and a paid plugin like Massive X doesn’t even react to polyphonic aftertouch is beyond me, but here we are.

NI is probably like many big software corporations. I bet they spend a huge amount of money on marketing, and upper management salaries, instead of on development.zerocrossing wrote: Thu Mar 31, 2022 2:02 pm Why a freebie can include MPE, and a paid plugin like Massive X doesn’t even react to polyphonic aftertouch is beyond me, but here we are.
And in the case of MPE, then the marketers also decide what gets developed. Since MPE hasn't taken off yet, they're devoting their resources to developing something else they think will sell. And with marketers, it's not always about being innovative. It's often about what they feel they can push on to people.

Clearly you are missing the point and context of that phrase.
It’s not about anything literal but about the thinking it invokes, the messaging.
