I purchased a few products to decisively make the most out of:

• only a few usb a and c connections
• a cpu that is already busy provisioning ram and gpu resources

a cpu without unified memory and a gpu and a conventional hdd is probably a bad idea due to the mitigated buffering and caching controlled by a front side bus. newer, modern ssd's will pose less challenge to a cpu that is already under strain

here's how to make an m1 faster:



go into recovery mode:

• turn off
• hold down power button till options
• open terminal
• type in:

  Code: Select all

  csrutil disable

• restart

+ turn off firewall
+ turn off encryption
+ turn off trusted apps
+ go with a hardware firewall
+ turn off wifi if you're paranoid.

+ download groundcontrol
+ follow the instructions

keep in mind, you will not use groundcontrol; you will merely use the system device name to route in the audio midi setup settings, groundcontrol should not even start with the system; because it is limited.
