What in the everloving hell does this even mean??Aleksey Vaneev wrote: Thu Mar 31, 2022 8:02 pm It's "Made in Russia", and not "Made in Ukraine". Huge problem that got resolved only recently.

I'm not sure about that. Unfortunately, vk.com is the only place where I saved the experiment.Ploki wrote: Thu Mar 31, 2022 8:34 pm Safari shows black screen, and Chrome says "media unavailable".
do i need a vk.com acc?

The video doesn't show up for me either, but an oscillator-less synth technology sounds very interesting. There is definitely a market for unique left-field synths.Aleksey Vaneev wrote: Thu Mar 31, 2022 7:55 pm Not sure if this link works, but tell me how it sounds. I've got an oscillator-less synth technology by accident. It's mind-blowing how it works. Maybe sometime...

You could combine that with mod matrix, AM, FM, elements of physical modelling etc. and it would sell like hot cakes. Hope it materializes one day.

BTW, managed to make it work on an android phone too. Sounds real interesting and feedback-y, the sound kinda reminds me of Soma Lyra 8.
No hurry if it's a time-consuming experiment, Aleksey, I'm sure you're a busy man already.
It's just something you could tinker with in your spare time and if it materializes at some point, then great, but do take your time if you choose this route in the end, developing a synth is more complex than in the case of regular audio processors.
An experimental digital synth with some elements of AM, FM, physical modelling, feedback would be extremely interesting and unique in the market dominated by analog synth wannabes.
I would certainly buy it, that is if you were to make it payware to all Voxengo premium membership customers. And that would definitely be worth it.

Thanks. Indeed I'm novice in synths, but this "synth" is too good to be true to ditch it completely. Maybe sometime, and maybe I can use that tech for kick-drum synth, from what I've gathered, market lacks real diversity of kick-drums. I'll elaborate on the tech - the synth initiates from impulses of varying frequency content, not oscillator, it self-oscillates - that's why it sounds organic, it's due to feedback. It looks like every repetition is unique unlike oscillator-based synths.

My advice would be to make it not just a kick synth, but a feedback-based one possibly capable of creating good kicks. Although you could very well use the same tech to release two synths with a different focus.
But yeah, a feedback synth with some physical models and different distortion/waveshaping algos would be VERY unique.
I don't think there is anything like it on the market, the closest alternative would be either Plasmonic by Rhizomatic, Aalto by Madrona Labs or Sinmad by NUSofting, so very left-field stuff and they're not even quite about that either.
You could also consider adding a noise generator in there in order to blend some of it in with impulses for even more organic results.

I'll elaborate, but please do not continue any political talk, otherwise this very useful thread will be closed. What I've noted is (or was) a serious issue. Those who read License agreement of Voxengo software know it's legally bound to the Russian Federation. Most people do not read lengthy licenses. They just see author's surnames: Vaneev and Stolypko. Vaneev is partly Russian surname, partly Ossetian, partly Komi. Stolypko is a Belorussian surname, but can easily be perceived as Ukrainian. People started taking sides due to Ukrainian-Russian conflict, and it lasted for years: I've received too many shit-posts over the years, from BOTH sides. Only recently I've come up with an idea to stop such division just by including a simple "Made in Russia" claim, uncommon for software, but common for tangible goods. I hope everybody understands that my situation was a bit grave.NAD wrote: Thu Mar 31, 2022 9:14 pmWhat in the everloving hell does this even mean??Aleksey Vaneev wrote: Thu Mar 31, 2022 8:02 pm It's "Made in Russia", and not "Made in Ukraine".
