todays irrelevant issue: naming your music files

eh, current 'music' folder is 238GB (MP3s...), 38,511 files... Still reckon I have a few boxes of CDs to rip too.

It's a fair point about the filename being irrelevant, I guess my analinity stretches to the filename too. If your files are tagged correctly then a prog like MP3Tag makes renaming them simple, has a tag-to-name function, just use a template to specify the naming convention (%track% - %title% etc)

I've just noticed a lot of my files are tagged track id 1,2,3... whereas others are 01,02,03... Need to sort that out
