Valhalla UberMod - don't hear much chatter about it.

I finally bought Valhalla VVerb (dunno why it took me so long) and I had a good surf around on their website while I was there. Probably won't buy the other verbs, but some of the demo tracks of UberMod sounded very lush indeed and it quite piqued my interest. Sounds like it can make massive rich choruses etc but likely capable of much more multitap madness. Seems to be the forgotten Valhalla orphan child and I haven't seen much chatter about it...any of you bought it and use it regularly, or is it a bit of a 1-trick pony? Most choruses don't inspire me, but I could see myself using that.

It sounds great, it’s just a LOT of plugin. If I pretend it’s just 6 or so controls it’s amazing but too frequently get stuck trying to make it sound a bit better and get lost. Analysis paralysis with that one for me.

One of my most used plugins. Mostly on sounds that are too dry and need some ambience or some swishy movement in background. Also great for widening. Or crazy feedback. Very versatile plugin. It has a bit of metallic character but that`s ok, nothing is good for everything.

It's fantastic. One really cool thing is that it can do fantastic emnsembles, tape-delays and more and since you can kind of reach under the hood, you have total control over transforming it into something entirely different (either in realtime or using automation) which can yield really dramatic effects...

Good for delay and chorus type effects. Nice GUI too.

I ,for one, mainly use ubermod after appropriate tweak for tempo-sync gate and reverse reverb

Bought it shortly after it came out (wow that was ten years ago
) and I still use it in every project. I think Valhalla UberMod is Valhalla's best product. And once you got what the parameters are doing and how they relate to each other dialing in a desired effect is easy. I really like that Ubermod can really do almost every time-related effect and that Ubermod can deliver classic sounds as well as weird experimental stuff. If anyone ever would make a Top-10-List of must-have effect plugins Ubermod would be in... and really there is nothing which can compete with it

Never liked the sound quality/texture, and it has way too many obscure controls and not the best workflow for me. If you like the sound and get into the complexity, it is probably extremely flexible/usable though.

yes it is, if you ever find the time to dig into it, trust me that you really won't regret itcantaloupe wrote: Fri Apr 01, 2022 12:17 pm Never liked the sound quality/texture, and it has way too many obscure controls and not the best workflow for me. is there a reason why you think there needs to be constant chatter about this or any plugin?
I'll never understand the "any love" or "underrated" plugin threads.

No, I don't want it, not interested in anyone's opinion who has used it, don't make music or use plugins in any way, shape or form and just wrote this purely to piss you personally off.psynical wrote: Fri Apr 01, 2022 8:09 pm is there a reason why you think there needs to be constant chatter about this or any plugin?

WhyTF do you think I might want to know how good it is as a plugin multitap delay? To shine my shoes with?
