I'm using DS-404 in Magix Music Studio 7. (which should resemble Logic pretty much, I'm told.) I like it very much, it sounds warm and versatile to my ears.
The thing is I want to enter the looppoints precisly. With the alpha-dial I not able to enter them in detail.
Has anyone a solution to this?

DS404 can read loop points and root notes directly out of WAV and AIFF files - so, the best way to do this is to set the loop points in your wave editing program (wavelab, cooledit etc.) and simply load them up.

Another possibility is to zoom right in (left click in the wave display), switch to editing loop point start or end, and then double-click where you want the loop point. You can get down to sample accuracy with this method. Check your manual for more info about the wave editor functions.

Thanks for that tip, Dave. I didn't see that one in the manual.

I too was getting frustrated setting loop points in the DS-404, because even when zoomed in to the highest magnification and holding down Shift while turning the jog wheel, I still found the loop point in question was skipping too many samples.

Like for example, the zero point I'm aiming for is at 62161 samples, yet when I hold Shift while turning the wheel, it only jumps between 61830 and 62184. The double-click method now allows me to set the loop point I want, without having to take the extra time to run the sample through my audio editor.

I'm starting to like DS-404 more and more... way to go, Muon and CM! 8)
