so you were in a situation where choices weren’t available and this was bad so therefore having choices available (such as what you are used to) is bad? oh ok.mtelesha wrote: Sat Apr 02, 2022 4:11 am It was really hard to get a good sound when I went into a new studio because I wasn't experienced with their stuff.

I would have gone with the trusty old 'a bad carpenter blames the tools' but I suppose nobody ever made a hand carved sleigh bed with a FET compressor

If it were a nice and sturdy one you could at least use it as a hammer, but then, I've heard that when all you have is a nice and sturdy FET compressor, every problem looks like a nail.

Moved goalposts. You're now conflating knowing how to use something with complete mastery of that thing.mtelesha wrote: Sat Apr 02, 2022 4:11 am Awesome you know all your synths and can make any sound you have in your head.
Compression isnt compressor plugins.I didn't know compression was so easy to learn how to use properly.
My analogue modular synths dont have presets.Seriously learning your tools is more than clicking a preset and saying sounds nice.

Except for the ones that have more than that of course. But they're really expensive, because they have to hire one person for each and every compressor.mtelesha wrote: Sat Apr 02, 2022 4:11 am When you go into an analog hardware focus studio they have two or three compressors a channel strip, a few effects and a handful of other tools.
