Yeah I think that’s the point and goes along with what BT said in the introduction video. He is heavily influenced by electronic music and was looking for some specific solution for his (and others) needs which is predominately found in electronic music.pixel85 wrote: Fri Apr 01, 2022 5:33 pm Very interesting concept. My impression is, after only watching the demo video, that it sounds very unnatural/artificial. I don't think that vocals or piano are the best sources for this kind of reverb. Synths, 'artificial' sounds - I suppose that it would suit it better.
Cool idea for sure, but not really for me…
Cheers

Hell yeah! I’m sounding like a record on repeat but something like tremor - modernized and not from fxpansion - would make me jizz my pants…
Cheers

Since in the real world all the reverbs we hear DO include the transient attack part being bounced off walls and stuff why does this plugin try to avoid that?
Also since it doesnt 'sample' the transient how does it fill the part right after it without a noticeable unwanted predelay?
interesting interesting stuff

This. No idea why they ditched their amazing mod system which was one of their coolest and unique signaturemasterhiggins wrote: Fri Apr 01, 2022 12:46 am
Congrats on the new release. Sorry if you’ve addressed this before, but why did you guys stop using your mod system on your last few plugins?

I loved the modulation system a la BYOME/TRIAD also and hope it makes a return. Maybe first in my most hoped for future product: LION 2, which in my dreams adds one more oscillator + one sample/noise channel, expands the oscillator types (especially more granular oscillators), mixer modes (what a great strength), and touches up the aftertouch implementation to be a little more standard. And features some stuff inspired by Silo and Lo-Fi-AF as well as this one!
... ok I'm getting off topic, love a bunch of Unfiltered software though, wish y'all success with this release.

Just a guess but maybe because you can apply extensive modulation in a lot of DAWs now? So makes for a cleaner easier to develop product.Neon Breath wrote: Sat Apr 02, 2022 7:25 pm

On that note I've found certain Tails parameters respond really nicely and produce some great sounds when modulated. Things like adding a beat synced LFO to the size parameter or a step sequencer to the bitrate parameter adds a whole other dimension to the product. Well worth trying out.

The answer is quite simple:YoddYarmonics wrote: Sat Apr 02, 2022 6:57 pm Since in the real world all the reverbs we hear DO include the transient attack part being bounced off walls and stuff why does this plugin try to avoid that?
....
Because reverbs in electronic music aren´t used to emulate a natural space!
It´s part of the sounddesign to put the sound in a huge surrounding cloud of sound particles...
When do you were last in a room which would cause a 5-15s long tail in this density most people are using reverbs on vocals, synths...etc...?
What happens if you set the release time of the amp envelope on your synth to 15s and play different chords??

This is a pass for me.
Reverb Swap in Renoun and Shimmer modes spikes my CPU something awful, with crackles and pops. It does it less with Deep and Spatial. But the actual difference in sound seems pretty subtle (maybe it depends on what you throw at it, I was intentionally playing some very dissonant stuff).
The gain has to be pulled down quite a bit to prevent clipping, too.
And then the reverb sound itself is just not really grabbing me anyway, considering the too many options I already have.

there are people who studied sound engineering.Trancit wrote: Sun Apr 03, 2022 9:51 amThe answer is quite simple:YoddYarmonics wrote: Sat Apr 02, 2022 6:57 pm Since in the real world all the reverbs we hear DO include the transient attack part being bounced off walls and stuff why does this plugin try to avoid that?

either in college or by them self. they know how to mix.
if you need such a reverb and beyond, go for zynaptiq Adaptiverb. its the real s*it.

had adaptiverb for a while. didn't really press my buttons. it's interesting but i didn't find it super useful. tails seems like there's a lot to reveal there and once i learn it some more i'll be in a good place. it's kinda immediately inspiring though. also, i think B2 is way more interesting than adaptiverb. i hope 2C gets their act together because that is one amazing and creative sound design tool. i think Tails will fit right in that ball park too. it's a much different sound than other verbs i have and i'm enjoying the dynamics of it. still finding my way though.greententacle wrote: Sun Apr 03, 2022 7:40 pmthere are people who studied sound engineering.Trancit wrote: Sun Apr 03, 2022 9:51 amThe answer is quite simple:YoddYarmonics wrote: Sat Apr 02, 2022 6:57 pm Since in the real world all the reverbs we hear DO include the transient attack part being bounced off walls and stuff why does this plugin try to avoid that?

This reverb sounds really good. I am surprised. It sounds stunning to me with dramatic cinematic percussion. No brainer with my voucher. Good job UA on creating a reverb that is competitive in a saturated market (pun intended).
I find the GUI laggy however but its probably my system. 2010 mac pro 12 core ATI Radeon 7870 Reaper 6 AU. Its as if its not using the GPU...

I noticed that. That is an issue for sure. I can work around it but its not going to work for everyone.
