Arturia V Collection 9. Predictions?

Twice I really got tempted with this offer.. So I downloaded the ones I would most likely be interested in... Juno-6, Jup-8 v4 OB-XA, and Vocoder
and both times I compared:
Juno 6- to Tal U No LX
Jup-8 to Tal J8
OB-XA to Obsession
and in both of those times I much much MUCH preferred the sound of the latter in all those comparisons.
Vocoder was just too unnecessarily complicated for me to use too, for what I would want in a vocoder.
So both times I removed it from my cart.. Maybe V9 will come with stuff that I find irresistible.

Yes those three I would never use due to the latter ones as well.zvenx wrote: Mon Mar 28, 2022 12:48 pm Twice I really got tempted with this offer.. So I downloaded the ones I would most likely be interested in... Juno-6, Jup-8 v4 OB-XA, and Vocoder

I'm curious how would you feel if you didn't already have the TAL & Obsession (I'm presuming you already do) ? Would the $149 for all of them + a bunch of other synths sway you over ?zvenx wrote: Mon Mar 28, 2022 12:48 pm Twice I really got tempted with this offer.. Hi, yes.. I do have those I compared them to.. so this would add nothing of value that I would use to my options, but indeed if I didn't have them and they didn't exist.... I would probably get these.. surely $149 is a tremendous value, just if I wouldn't use them, it didn't make sense for me to purchase.

Arturia has never done a classic drum machine for V Collection.
It would be cool if they did the 1978 Roland CompuRhythm CR-78

THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

We are of course all have different tastes and entitled to our own opinions. I am curious though if you ever played the original hardwares?Chrisk-K wrote: Tue Mar 29, 2022 3:29 pm For me,

This is going to expose me as a total weirdo, but I'd love to see Arturia's take on the original Moog Taurus.
A few classic drum machines would also be cool.

Arturia's strength is their unique digital synths with the crown going to Synclavier V. One thing they need to stop though is the rehashing of emulations perfected by other developers (Juno, Minimoog, Prophet-5).

Well that's how they started so I don't suppose they will stop with the vintage analog emulations, but yes I agree, others have done them much better. And yes I also agree that I prefer their vintage digital synths to the analog emulations. Though I also like the organs and solina. Also have to admit that I'm looking forward to having the Vocoder at some point (still on V6).electro wrote: Mon Apr 04, 2022 2:57 pm Arturia's strength is their unique digital synths with the crown going to Synclavier V. It seems that there's a bunch of us that jumped on V5/V6 are waiting for something really cool again. The CZ was the only recent synth that is a little bit interesting to me. Not cool enough to spend a bunch of money for it.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Mon Apr 04, 2022 3:05 pmWell that's how they started so I don't suppose they will stop with the vintage analog emulations, but yes I agree, others have done them much better. That Vocoder V is an awesome product!
For V9 they need to add
SQ80 V
Wurlitzer V2
Matrix 12 V2
Arp 2600 V3 ?
But leave those other older emulations alone as low CPU sketch pads. Moog Modular has already been modeled properly by Softube Model 72 Synthesizer System...amazing sound ITB.

I'm on V5 and I really like Arturia.
I forced myself to not update with the recent discount, Im pretty sure they will announce something soon : V Collection 9.
Im curious to know how much will be the crossgrade for V Collection 5 -> V Collection 9 + FX Collection 2
