All 5 bulleted features being things UADX doesn't have. 😂 Well played Softube. The Chandlers are looking pretty tempting atm.

Post

Btw I dare you to post that on the GS thread. 😂😂😂 Insta-moderated!!!

Post

Lol. I thought of it and then re-thought it. Lol

LIke Softube , there are several BX plugins from Plugin Alliance that exist in native and UAD2 form. The PA sales prices are quite an incentive if you are patient and buy what you’ll use.

Post

theyre going in the right direction going native but it still needs an expensive subscription for not many plugins, or you need to buy hardware literally just as a dongle if you want to buy native plugins

Post

How much actually is it? Their website is very cagey about prices and products included. I need more information than a few videos and a trial link.

🤣 Thats exactly what I thought when I read that email! 😂

Post

And yes you should definitely post that on the GS thread 😁

Post

Yeah do it. To many being way to protective and holy grail-y towards UAD plugins ffs (although Softube are equally overpriced imo).

Honestly, there's no point. That comment would get deleted from the GS thread almost as fast as it was posted. They've clearly worked out some kind of deal with Universal Audio to keep that thread corporate friendly. I stopped paying attention a few days ago, but when I was paying attention, they had literally deleted hundreds of comments, the page count would constantly jump up and then back down. 😂

What do you expect from a company that deletes negative plugin reviews on their site but allow fake over the top praise 5star reviews?

Except the real time thing. The irony is that they've stopped manufacturing some of the hardware that was best suited for that (eg Live Rack). But the interfaces with quality preamps etc are also still good I guess. It's the Accelerators that should be made redundant by migrating everything to native.
Not for me. I love that the DSP takes a weight off my PC.

UAD handles the bulk of my mixing plug ins, but my PC still handles a bunch of pretty heavy VSTis - and that's with a pretty decent PC from 3-4yrs ago.

Maybe my next Audio PC will make it a moot point - but we're not there yet.

Whats the drama? Just buy the plug in alliance stuff native even if you have UAD.

UAD also have pretty regular sales. If you're not in a hurry there are good discounts to be had.

Any software application can be implemented in such a way that it consumes more or less resources, without changing its ultimate effect. That is a simple statement of fact, not opinion.
It's possible that some of their plug ins could have been more economical. In the early days they had lower cpu SE versions. I think their user base really just wanted the highest quality plug ins. Their aim really is to replace studio hardware. Many studio users were happy to grab multiple UAD cards because that was still less than a few hardware compressors.

It's always been a bit of an investment DSP and plug in cost - but the quality is really great.

I'd put them more in the Uhe camp, where with Ace and Diva the aim was simply to make the best quality plug ins regardless of cpu. (which of course has happened more in PCs than DSP in the past decade).
