Сompanies that "cancel" users from Russia clearly show that the plugins never belonged to you.

Plugin Alliance, REfx and few others audio companies that revoke licenses or do not allow to activate already purchased ones for Russian users. I clearly understand that this is principal position, but do you understand that "ownership" is what you are selling to musicians and what we are buying from you? It was a clear deal: pay us = use plugins.
100% of your buyers from Russia are shocked by what is happening, many have been hit on the heads by sadists in uniform, many have lost their faith, some continue to take to the streets and fight, and then you come and take their plugins away because what? How does it prevent evil? You express your position at the expense of others.
I can't write music yet, but when this is all over and I can feel inspired again, I will never go back to companies that act like children, forgetting that money is earned by work, not falling from the sky.

you buy the license not the plugin, but i dont think this is right, fair enough not letting them buy new ones cos of the sanctions that are needed as the only way to deter russia without going to war and risking nuclear war (other than giving guns to ukraine)
but taking away licenses for plugins they already bought isnt right, russians are just people like anyone else and most have nothing to do with the war and many oppose it

reFX actually revoked licenses including all of expansions. Plugin Alliance disabled activation and purchases from Russian IP's. Overloud is blocking activation. I hope this list will not be supplemented though.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Tue Apr 05, 2022 1:16 pm Who would do this? There are actually companies that revoke licenses of Russian users? Name them.
This topic is my statement to the devs, nothing more.

Nothing wrong if company won't sell to anyone. I feel wrong only when activations of already purchased products are blocked.

fair enough but i guess the number of plugins that are bought but not activated will be pretty small, it might be harder to only block purchases but not activations, eg if people buy plugins second handDombaeb wrote: Tue Apr 05, 2022 1:28 pm Nothing wrong if company won't sell to anyone. Why do you need new plugins? Use old.
I now stayed without midi keyboard and iron synthesizer, and I do not emit a scream that I was deprived of the Russians.
For several years I dreamed of buying Korg Modwave, I collected $ 300 for two years, which I had to eat in two weeks.
Now it is better to spend money on food, and for a while forget about music. Maybe during this time there will be beautiful peaceful melodies in the head.

You should mention where you read that they revoked licenses.Dombaeb wrote: Tue Apr 05, 2022 1:22 pmreFX actually revoked licenses including all of expansions. Also, did they do a refund for these licenses? After all, people paid for them.

hes saying that he only has a problem with people not being able to use things they already bought, including things they bought but didnt activate yet, but hes not arguing that russians should be able to buy new pluginsAlex_Longard wrote: Tue Apr 05, 2022 1:39 pm Why do you need new plugins?
