Hi,
I'm using Fame mostly as a send FX (so,on busses).
So, I turn the "dry" signal all the way down and use the "wet" one.
What are people doing with the two mono mics though? The wet signal is coming from a couple of (stereo) mics - so these two just add to the "room" sound - but why do we need them?
I've been adding just a little bit of the mono mics in with the wet (no dry because we're on a buss) and it does make the reverb a little "thicker" - but not too noticable at the low reverb levels that I use.
- Does it make sense to use both of the mono mics (one condensor and one ribbon) or is it better to just use one?
- Is it best to just leave them panned to centre - or is it a good idea to maybe pan the mono mics a little L and R (if using both of them)
I've been playing around with this - but wondering what other people think.
IKM Fame - how are you using the (live room) mono mics?

I don't think there's a right way here. Whatever works for you in a particular mix is the right way. You can mix the mono mics at whatever levels gives you the best sound, if that what's you want. You can, but don't have to, use their panning options to add additional stereo separation. No rules - just have fun.

Well, I'm having fun - just wondering why I'd need the two mono mics.
I use them a little, because they're there, but I'm sure I could live without them too
