FWIW I'm new to music production in general (I've dabbled with a few different DAW free trials and bought a recent humble bundle that was music production based, and that's about it) so I don't know most of the terminology I'm seeing around either.
What is KVR?

Hello! I'm new here; I came from a reddit link suggesting this buy/sell forum. But I haven't quite figured out what this place is. There's a store called Marketplace that sells software/instruments from a variety of companies, and an active forum with a buy/sell section, and general chatter about music production... but that's all I've got.
Any explanation from someone who's been around a while?

Its a discussion forum, and it offers various generic forums (forae?) for discussion of various audio-related things, but also a large number of audio software companies have their support forums based here.
There's a forum specifically for members to sell to each other as private individuals.
The forum owners recently added the Marketplace, which is a commercial storefront.

Oooh so it's a forum first and a store second? I had assumed it was the other way around, which confused me more as most stores don't also have a forum.
And thank you for linking the "about" page. It's not in the top navigation bar on the website for some reason so I hadn't found it. :O According to that page "KVR" doesn't mean anything, which would also explain why I hadn't found any definition for it that made sense.

you were referred to our second hand buy and sell forum, we also have a marketplace for developers of software and host many company support forums here too. As a result we have the amazing fortune to have many developers here. We are not a forum first, we're a community, we have a lot of brilliance here. We have brilliant devs, producers, composers, techs, sound designers and frankly a lot of amazing people here. A resource that I wish were available to me back in the dayMatsuHiroshi wrote: Wed Apr 06, 2022 10:04 am Oooh so it's a forum first and a store second? The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.
