We released Aloha: a vintage tape plug-in that reproduces the sound of the oldest and low-IPS tape devices.

In Aloha, the audio signal flows through a series of very short (and cpu-friendly) convolutions designed from multiple pre-1950s tape devices and is adjusted with a algorithmic model.

The goal was to re-create the richness and feel of the oldest tape devices ever!

Which tape devices served as inspiration? Magnetic tape?

Weren't early tape devices high IPS (100 cm/s and such)?
