Hi all,

Can someone direct me to a freeware drum kit (ie. SR-202 including preset... I don't know how to program a sound generator worth a crap!) OR simply a standalone publicly available pair of .wav files that can sound more or less like this:

Small Sample (256 kb) ?

The above was created by me, but since it used a fairly grainy pitch-shift, when I try to apply other creative effects to it (to sharpen it up... it's rather muddy sounding), the "jaggies" from the pitch shift are emphasized and it sounds horrible. Ideally, I'd like something that sounds similar, but features smoother and more "real" waveforms that I can then manipulate a bit better.

I know it's a bit of a cliched sound, but I like it, and I've been building a track around it.

Drumatic 3 is easy to work with. The Noise Amplitude Envelope will get the job done. I like your sounds though. The kick reminds me of the 2600 Tank Battle.

If you want, I'll make the file for you.

Heh, it DOES sound like Tank Battle! :D That's almost too bad, though, because now I notice even MORE how low-budget it is, when it's meant to sound grand and thundery. <grin>

I'd love to hear what you come up with. I only need 2 sounds, the low and the high... the rest of the echoey stuff is either simulated echo (with MIDI) or true echo (using Kjaerhus Classic).

Cheers for the offer!
