I was referring to the part where you said "granddad" wasn't an offensive term, but it depends on context. So, not having a go at you.
Nor @lwj, or any one in particular. Music is ageless - as much shite/brilliance is produced by the old and experienced as well as by the young and ignorant.
But there seems to be a lot of derogatory comments about age. That's it. :shrug:

UAD Chandler Limited Curvebender is pretty nice. More subtle than the EQP-1A, but tasteful.

The Maag EQ4 Air Band also opens things nicely. And the low end (Sub and 40Hz) on this plugin work well too.
