It makes no sense. PA makes money off license transfer, usually more than sale+voucher

Are you sure you don't get a second license? I already had bx_oberhausen and Ampeg SVT-VR Classic and now the amount of authorizations avaible in my account is increased by +3.
i haven't looked. no idea really.. was just replying to that post. i already had a couple of the PA licenses too so only installed the ones i didn't have.

regardless.. seems silly to complain about free stuff being an NFR. like it's a penalty or something.

I was complaining that they don't tell you that you can't have them if you previously paid for a license ... no issue about free NFRs (although they could mention it before you waste your time applying).

they always sell their shit news as great for customers and companies, and in the end it is even more having dumbed down salaries, freedom etc.
yeah get your food delivered 24/7, get coupons, get a great app for free with free meals after 10 orders etc. yeah so f**king fantastic! wohoooo 80% love it and bite the crap.

employeees are f*cked over, smaller companies struggle cause they cannot deliver 24/7, you get more and more bound to digital apps etc., you support in the end companies whhere people complain they are getting a monopol and destroy the market but support them cause it is just cool and practical. the same shit can be seen in every market, and here in the music industry it is the same. digital licenses got more and more shit for customers, and creativity gets dumbed down, companies took over great products and mostly put them to crap and so on. yeah i know this sounds all so depressed and not optimistic, yeah a troll, a whiner etc. but i remember 10-20 years ago people told too this is all bullshit and now e.g. in the food industry we got so much shit cautious people told, even the movies show what might happen/happens. but yeah all bullshit i know

im glad there are still companies like u-he etc. hope they and others stay around for a long time and dont get eaten by this webmarket.

btw. just look at Steam gaming platform and others, you dont own shit, you rent these digital license, games got pulled, you need to be connected to the internet, you cannot resell etc.

so yeah im not happy about fusions of companies mostly.

My AMpeg jumped up by three as well. Also, it's still listed in plugins that I can sell, so, I assume that you are getting all the licenses but they're not listed separately.

If you already have a PA account this is pretty painless as freebies go.

I agree, it's great for new(ish) customers and I see what you mean about the extra activations (I just checked and I got them too) ... presumably they don't want people selling their original licenses and keeping the NFR freebies.

I'm not really new-ish, but, I stopped buying anything from them a few years ago because of the silly coupon/subscription games. So the Ampeg was the only thing that I already had.

I can't be assed to sell individual plugins unless they're really worth a lot, and even then, I think that I've sold (actually traded) one plugin in the decade plus that I've been buying plugins.

Had they made it more painful, I wouldn't have bothered. I'm not going to bother with the izotope bs which might as well be demo-ware at this point. I think that I already have the NI thing, not sure that I care if I don't either TBH.

what's wrong with izotope's 'business practices'? i've had a good relationship with the company, & use some of their plugins, and ozone 9 advanced (essential)...

Ok, Plugin Alliance and Brainworx (actually both companies of Dirk Ulrich?) are joining forces with Native Instruments and iZotope to form a new alliance called "Soundwide". If I understand it correctly, there are 2 investment firms behind it (Francisco Partners and EMH Partners).
There is also a new brand for a development platform "Sound Stacks" which is an idea of the developers of Juce.

To be honest, I don't know what to make of it.
As for the free plugins... those of us who used to buy the stuff might find it a bit disappointing that some plugins are now being given away.

NI is now part of Soundwide with plugin alliance etc! Lots of free stuff...
