If it did, you wouldn't be asking how to connect it to a computer that can actually run the plugins you want to use.

The problem isn't the software or people trolling you on the forum.
The problem is you are using a setup that is no longer working for you and you're trying to avoid confronting it.

Everyone else either moved on to a more up-to-date operating system. Or they're not overly sensitive about still using XP.

Thing is, the first thing I would recommend if someone has issues with a software on XP is to upgrade to a current OS. Because, software isn't developed and tested to run on XP anymore.

That isn't discrimination, it's common sense.

And, if you use a computer with more current hardware, it's actually completely nuts to run XP, because, more current hardware won't even run XP.

You are implying that all posts will be a version of "how do i get it to work", to them i say upgrade your OS. But there are people who might want to discuss completely unrelated topics.

i think an XP forum would be as much about using plugins designed for XP and perhaps their relative merits- for example "what's the best synthetic drum mach that runs on XP. It would be hopefully a place to answer questions and discuss older technology related to WIN XP without the constant pressure to upgrade. as i use that one machine for WIN XP and older tech i sometimes have questions or answers to XP related issues. i have absolutely no plans to update the OS which would obviously cause problems with this machines main point of existence.. as you can see i'm not some kind of luddite stuck on XP. It's just one of many tools i use that i only occasionally would want to discuss. Another question i might have is "what are some of my options for wave editing in that enviroment.

Lastly, i do often recommend an OP update for the many situations where it is the obvious solution. More often than i will i recommend some fight with a system that (for their needs) would benefit from a newer OS (or machine altogether.

I don't think a separate subforum would be as helpful.

Say you have a question regarding an effects plug-in and XP, if you post in the effects subforum, there are plenty of people who have experience with XP and that effects plugin, but no longer use XP, who might see the post and answer it.

But if you create a separate subforum just for XP questions, a lot of members may not pay attention to posts in that subforum.

If you're discussing plugins made for Windows XP, then you're discussing only very old 32-bit plugins. That's a limited pool that hasn't grown any in over a decade. What's there to say now about these plugins that hasn't been said many years ago already, on KVR. Perhaps a KVR search is all you need.

That is a distinct possibility and not the outcome i was hoping for. Another issue is the the purpose i would be aiming for could become the "i'm using XP on an ancient machine, how do i get Omnisphere to work?" Which i guess would turn it into exactly what my critis are implying. ok, no added forum, KVR would just be a nicer place without the trolling.
