Welp.. I am disappoint by the lack of diversity in their Artist Board.

Short-sighted and off-putting. They would have been better to omit such an effort.
Yeh, not a single thrash guitarist!
I suspect you might be a bit sarcastic with the remark about slash guitarist... but yes... their Artist Board could use some representation from a broader range of music genres.. Rock, folk, country to name a few. Toontrack does a much better job at having broader appeal.
Not really, they make Guitar Rig!
But the comment was based on the new Artist Board and its possible influence on content focus.

Yes, I would like some guitarist on the board and I would like them to focus on GR6 and the new Amps they promised us!
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Well... I was able to grab the freebies from PA with no issues using the acct I had created years back to demo stuff.

Thoughts..

I found SVT to be useful but not really a replacement for other stuff I use.

The FR console interface is not my cup of tea....no idea what it sounds like. Refuse to deal with the gui.

The Synth is ok but doubt I would ever reach for it. Maybe use it for presets only.

The Shadow Hills comp is cool it has the same grabby vibe that Sknote SDC that I have does. In a battle I would choose Sknote because of copy protection.

I found the Master desk thingy to be suprisingly useful. I swapped out my usuals on the master on a finished mix and got very fast n good results.

The tube saturation is cool. Can always use a different saturation.

Who owns who doesn't matter to me.....just deliver like CBS did with Fender not like who ever owns AIR.
We jumped the fence because it was a fence not be cause the grass was greener.

but the activation count goes up (by 3)
so instead of 3 activations you have 6

Second-hand sales of PA plugins has been effectively more or less killed by Forever29 though now, which makes *any* plugin, even the newest expensive ones, available for $31 (same as selling a plugin for just $10 and paying a licence transfer.)

So it's not really a problem your free plugins can't be resold for profit - that's not what they were for anyway.

(I just checked though, and the two free new licenses I got with the welcome offer are "Full Licenses", not NFRs. Nor did it change the status of the other plugins I already owned - it just upped the number of activations.)

thecontrolcentre wrote: Wed Apr 13, 2022 6:24 amThere are standalone versions too. I never use the download manager.
Why the f**k not? PA's installation manager is f**king awesome. Overall, using installation managers probably saved me 20-30 hours of f**king about while setting up my new laptop over the last few weeks. I can't get enough of 'em.
Good for you. I'm not setting up a new laptop ... I like to organise my plugins, not just drop them all in the same folder.

Thanks. I know that now. It was pointed out earlier in this thread.

These genres are appreciated primarily by grumpy old white men (which is the main tribe here in the forum), but these in-the-past-everything-was better-guys are obviously no longer relevant from a business perspective. You have to deal with it :P

chk071 wrote: Wed Apr 13, 2022 2:09 pm I bought bx_oberhausen, and I don't care at all that it's being given away.

Give and take.

Awesome plugin. I can only highly recommend to get it. The other stuff sems neat as well.
I own Oberhausen too, I bought it a while back when it was first released.

I don't care that they're giving it away for free now. That doesn't change any of my plans and I've gotten good use out of mine since I've owned it.

I never buy plugins with the intent of selling, so it doesn't matter to me what the cost of it is today, even if that cost is $0.00

The Oberhausen holds the same value for me today as it did last month and I will continue to use it in the future, when I'm looking for that type of sound.

Nice welcome package. Don't own any PA stuff. Tried the oberhausen for the first time and actually for the first time I prefer an Arturia version of something. I'm not huge on most Arturia analog emus, but I dig their SEM V better than this one I think. So far anyways.
