depends where you live.
some places it's normal for them to just go out. i saw a documentary years ago, i think it was brazil?
they tagged loads of dogs in this one town/city, and found that dogs from all over, would head to this one central park, meeting up and getting in to pecking order, hanging out for a bit then all just going home.
same, every day!

However, I now also mix things so that my dog likes the songs and the sound. If he gets up and wants to escape, then something probably doesn't fit. From therefore at least my last things are all dog-approved

my missus lives in platt bridge, which locals call platt wazz.
because trains used to pull in to the siding there, for drivers and engineers to get off and piss in the bushes.
even on buses they will ask for "a single to platt wazz"
