With such a name i first thought it was some wavetable synthesis but then i saw the video and it's definitely some kind of physical modeling on steroids.

yes indeed, the Scanned Oscillator has all (or all...) the usual suspects of Physical Audio Modelling... but it isn't, but as an exciter it can be used, and resonators, the VCF of MRB, is quite suitable for that, in a row, a preset what that VCF can do:

but still not meant for for physical modelling; it uses those 'natural' elements to create waves, there is no wave or whatever, nodes are produced according to the different settings.

ánd you can draw with your mouse in the wave view...... many many possibilities.

about problems with VM; do install not via VM, do download via website.
also; when things stay problematic;

under settings:

Clear Cache FIles
and
Delete Module FIles

the last one will download all modules again.. of course.

version 2.5.x can't be downloaded via VM of you have an older one by the way.

Upon further playing with it it's not exactly what i thought it would be.
Very interesting nonetheless.
I already have modeling covered outside VM, and as you wisely say MRB indeed made a preset using VCF as resonators. i'm actually the guy on this single answer thread you mentioned.

Andrew Macaulay is my favourite VM module developer. Very interesting insight. My question, would Andrew ever develop modules for VCV Rack is also more or less answered. It doesn't seem so.

Another interesting thing, the real life voice of Rolf Kasten is much more pleasant. Does he modulate his voice, or speaks someone else his tutorials?
