I'm too good to be egotistical

I used to be so overwhelmed by music. When I got good, I'd get so moved I would stop playing in the middle of jamming. I made a conscious effort to get over that. Now I'm only moved by my own music. I know it sounds egotistical and jaded. Anyone experience this? Is there a cure? Flame me if you have to, but I want to feel music again.
P.S. I'm listening to Internet radio and Sweet's "Fox on the Run" just gave me a goose pimple. There may be hope for me.

It sounds to me not like egotism, but more like being able to play the kind of music that deeply affects you, to the point where it becomes physical.
Wish I could do that.
As for finding other music unaffecting... that sounds, erm, unfortunate. By all means keep listening to other stuff and being moved!

That brings up a point. Friends and family are really pleased with my guitar oriented stuff. If I post it, what happens if it's stolen?
I don't feel apprehensive about posting my electronica. I feel communal regarding that. Just baring my soul here.
BTW Where is a good place to post some tunes?

Music with dinner is an insult both to the cook and the violinist.

I'm that way to Androidlove.
I'm very fickle about the music I listen to of new bands. And alot of the times I deviate to something so obscure from my own music making - it gives me renewed pleasure. Something cheesy like Paul Anka, or The Carpenters or even The Archies... I'm suddenly tapping my foot, singing the words, and just having a good time appreciating it. Yet with 'modern music' I'm so critical and paranoid of it. It either 'sucks' or it sounds too much like me... Or both!
It goes with the job I guess?
