He's not big here, but I did see a video once were he got his skin ripped off, it started all serious and then went to the shitter, it truely was a good laugh, but alas, only shown once.

I'll gladly trade you two Williams for one Timberflake...
The armchair is more than the sum of the bastards

I second that.

Like him or hate him, he truly is one of a kind. The fact that he's such a strong character in itself is a selling point for me. I can't help but like the guy. There are a lot of "blurry" pop artists out there. Williams ain't one of them.

I also happen to think he's a fantastic POP singer. The guy's got plenty of character and expression in his voice. If you want technical excellence and perfect pitch go listen to opera or gospel.

I think Robbie Williams said a lot when he said "I'm not a musician, I'm an entertainer."

If you read some frank sinatra biography you would realise that he was exactly like this as well. He almost had a severe disrespect for songwriters, arrangers and musicians apparently. He didn't realise it wasn't his voice alone that did the music.
I'd like to think that was more to do with the times - it was more usual to have separate singers and songwriters during Frank's heyday (although that's no excuse for him trashing his songwriters). But I'm probably just misguided. :D

Personally, give me an ugly singer-songwriter with a mediocre voice that sings with passion than someone who can perform a pitch-perfect rendition of someone else's songs.

I liked him in "Mork and Mindy". . . .

nanoo nanoooo! :hihi:

my wife and 4 year old love him, and why not ?

I worry for him, the guy is plainly off the rails with coke and booze and you can see totally on the edge all the time.

I can think of a lot worse, he's pretty muich harmless imo, not to himself though.

Erm, yeah, that's exactly what I wrote in my post  obviously in some obscure mid-Atlantic dialect only understood by sparrows, Italians who were brought up in germany and you.

Your 'you're jealous' "argument" is most likely the most yawn-inducing thing on this thread. We've heard it a million times. :help:

Hmm, I consider Sarah Cracknell to be a fantastic pop singer, so how would I know? :D

But I think that Robbie Will is a fantastic poop singer.

'Not a musician, an entertainer' - with that I can agree, even if I don't find him particularly entertaining myself.

Oh damn, just watch him in De-Lovely. Then you'll know ...

Now you've de-fuelled my whole argument, dammit! :)

I love Saint Etienne, but I don't consider her to be a passionate singer. Just perfect pop music, really.

Now I'm just confused...and going to bed.

:D

He's rich and bangs supermodels. How can I get that job?

Post

HA! I'm great, you all suck!

Actually That's not strictly true, I use the vurtbox on every record I do... so you all suck except vurt! :o

Want to remix my next single, vurt? I know times are hard after you turned down the position of sixth member of Take That...

:hihi:

Case in point in that song Robbie did with Kylie:

I'm just doing it for the kids! :D
