Some self-playing patches I recorded over the weekend.

Twirly - One oscillator, two drums, a bunch of filters and effects. Sequenced by digital shift registers, driven by Sport Mod2.

These are very interesting and captivating sounds.
I am being hooked into this space of sound.
Very cool.
I can play my electric guitar in this space and time of a recording.

Thanks for listening! I've always been fascinated by the way sounds can evoke emotions, outside of the context of traditional musical ideas. It's no surprise since we can have all sorts of reactions to sounds we encounter out in the world. It's interesting that we can have those kinds of reactions to synthesized sounds. Vurt's music has always struck me that way, so showing off that influence means a lot to me.

right, holy shit they were both awesome!!! ive said it before, but id pay to see/hear this on a big system, with psychedelic/weird visuals everywhere!!!
and id kill for a month in your laboratory!!! not you, id kill someone random, id want you in the room

some lovely sounds throughout both of them, but i love the thing in twiirly, sounds like a drum/vowel filter/delay...
reminds me of those birds that inflate their throats and click at each other

truly honoured that i can inspire anything this good

I'd be open to flying you out here one day. You, Deb and I will have an epic jam sesh.

I think the sound you are referencing is an LPG pluck that runs though a delay with a phaser in the feedback loop. The way the phaser stages cascade with feedback/repeats is one of my favorite sounds these days. A great way to get some trippy yet organic effects.
Soon, I'll have my first analog frequency shifter and I can't wait to hear how that sounds though a BBD delay (being a big fan of Valhalla's Freq Echo, Sonic Charge's Echobode and u-he's Uhbik-S).

phasers do have that almost vowel sound,
that on the feedback loop is something i need to try

The delayed/shifted sounds in Twirly are terrific. In places they sounded a little like the voice-click effect from the Predator movie. I'll listen to Stumble a little later.

I need to spend some time with Echobode.

Really interesting sounds. But there is missing something important...
To be really inspired by VURT it has to be at least 3-4 times as long.

(I just saw that he mentioned something similar ... a bit short

)

The synth sound great. May i ask how much does such thing cost?

Ha! It could have easily been much longer. The original recording was almost 20min. But I get bored of things pretty quickly. I thought the patch had done what it was going to do. I hadn't set up any performance controls, so any manual tweaking would have had unintended consequences.

Probably in the better-not-say range. It's difficult to put a price tag on it. I built a lot of stuff, including many modules, the PSUs and power distribution. Some of the things in there can't be easily acquired. Some things I got in exchange for work or in trade. It's a unique instrument, so to me it has a lot of value outside price.
