Is it possible to buy discontinued sample libraries from previous owners, and potentially use them? There's no way to purchase a lot of older libraries nowadays. Most producers I've met don't even care too much about older sounds but I think they're neat to use in productions as effects and whatnot.
If so, does anyone have any older CDs lying around that they're no longer using and are willing to sell potentially as a bundle? Not sure if this would be able to go in Sell & Buy so posting here if that's ok.

Yep, it should be possible to buy discontinued sample libraries from previous owners, and potentially use them.
I can't see an issue with that in terms of sample licensing / usage etc.
However, I wouldn't be massively hopeful that any / many people are selling them here, but you never know...
I guess you'd have to pinpoint which out-of-circulation sample libraries you'd like first and then put a Want To Buy advert up in the Sell/Buy forum.

If you mean: technically possible to sell/buy and use sample CDs? Of course, easy answer.
If you mean: 100% (internationally) legal to use the samples in a commercially released recording = can of worms (but not because you bought the sample CD second hand)
Some years ago, one could argue that unless your making some serious money from your music, it doesn't matter. Nowadays, I couldn't promise you that youtube algorithms wouldn't recognise (ban) a sample (used in a song) from a "sketchy" sample CD.

I wish I had known about the Sidsonic Kontakt libraries before they discontinued sales. I really really want to try out "Tubes" and "Circus Circuit Bending". They just disappeared entirely
