guys, Ableton is totally cumbersome for atm, im demoin it, but hey i dont bash it cause every daw other than FL Studio needs time to understand, but yeah i watched a tutorial and while Ableton is really crazy with automations (why IMAGE LINE, WHY!?) which are so fluid and awesome to change and the audio destrcution, the piano roll is such a pain, it just isnt fun yet, it is more like programming than playing with it.
e.g. i get that you need to create a midi clip or audio clip first, ok i created a midi clip e.g. 4 beats, i open the piano roll and i see hey i like the melody but i want to add more notes to it, i CANNOT?! just draw in more notes and ableton extends my midi clip?

here in fl studio you can just play and add more notes and extend, fl studio extends the clip on an on.

Just extend the midi clip and keep drawing ;) The arrow will change to a closed bracket " ] " but I couldn't capture it.

Personally, I'm now 100% using Ableton Live 11. The more I use it and adjust my workflow to it, the more productive and creative I be. I really love this DAW I'm resisting buying Push 2 again now!

How I used to do was paint the area, then create the clip. If needed more I recorded with + sign on, and it will extend until stopping recording... but:

You dont need to make the clip if you just play whatever, then click the [ ] -button and extend the clip - now you've got what you just played as midi - without pressing rec. I love this feature, its a lifesaver :)
