Good news indeed, if true…

Well I have the email from Korg so I have it in writing. 8) I will hold them to it. This is an expensive plugin. But since some of their other plugs show up for me as VSTs already, I have faith they will deliver on this one as well.

Apple Silicon now live.

However, I cannot get thr Apple Silicon version of Triton Extreme. Strange.

Yeah, it looks like they've slipped up on the Triton Extreme - doing a Get Info on the standalone shows Intel instead of Universal

yesterday I updated everything, but today nearly all of them shows in KORG-Pass that they have updates, but the downloaded file has the same name, the same size

anyone has this problem too?

Yup- the update/installer is a waste of space.

Have they updated the terrible Legacy Cell interface yet?

Post

Brilliant update :)
Works beautifully and as expected on my Mac Studio :)

No, this is a compatibility and bug fix update, not a "completely redesign a legacy plugin" update. I doubt they have any intentions to develop that any further, although it's good it's still supported and works, at least...

I can update my old Legacy Collection for $149 which adds the Tritons, Odyssey, mini700S and the Prophecy. A pretty good deal really, but - no. V Collection already has tons of great synths I barely use, and it has the badly-named Analog Lab which works extremely well as a global search which also allows me to edit the full versions. As said above, Legacy Cell is sorely wanting in comparison.

The Tritons are easily worth the $149, and since the V Collection doesn't cover Korg, that expands your sonic coverage a bit.

It's a great workstation from back in the peak digital workstation days, and has all of the bread and butter sounds you could want, with most of the sound expansions included. 256 voice polyphony, and 8 part Combi (multi). The only thing it lacks is the internal sampler, sequencer, & MOSS engine. But the separate Prophecy synth gives a nice taste of the MOSS tech, and the plugin version of Prophecy now has 256 voice poly capability.

Here's the most recent change log for Prophecy, note the sound engine improvements:

Prophecy Version 1.1.0

[PC/Mac] VST3 format support.
[Mac] Native Apple Silicon support.
[PC/Mac] The sound engine has been improved to more closely resemble the original hardware.
Windows 10 and too many plugins

Thanks for this..
I had liked the hardware prophecy and when I got the software version it did nothing much for me and I thought my ears had just moved on......but I guess also it just wasn't modeled optimally.
Will have to listen to it again.. I also wished they had added, like they have it most of their other software, the global option to boost the output.

Honestly none of that piques my interest much. I have more bread and more butter than I know what to do with, with 20 more years of sampling tech behind it. Classic sounds I realise, but I don't need to recreate the specifics of the era often / at all tbh. All the polyphony and multi-timbral stuff is moot for today's vsts. I'm not knocking it for other people, sure it's perfect at what it does, I simply don't need it.

The Prophecy might be nice, but I'm not really hankering after it. Since I have those first 6 Korg products (and the MS20iC controller), I'm pretty Korged up. Then there's Omni, U-he, Sonic Projects etc etc - I really don't need any more...

I'd like to see Korg re visit their analog collection and update the sound engines. I feel it's missing ALot of what they should sound like. The filters are a weak part of the analog collection imo. The real instruments sound much juicer and alive.
