I have reported it but a screen shot of the vst plugin manager would help.
thanks

If this was directed to me then I meant as an option to load the VST 3 when choosing an FX. The Plugin Manager lists all of the Plugins (i.e. 2's and 3's) - Cubase just doesn't display the 3's where I can load the darned things!!

Grum.

zvenx wrote: Sat Apr 23, 2022 12:01 am Ooh but that is how the pro version works. If shows both of they have different vst ids, and if they have the same only shows the vst3 one. You are saying the difference in AI is in the latter case it shows the vst2 one only?
Yeah, it seems to work that way.

As zvenx pointed out, you can create a custom plugin list in the plugin manager. Quite some work if you have a lot of plugins, but, at least you can choose that the list only shows VST3's then. What you see in the plugin browser on the right in the normal project view is just the automatically created default list that Cubase sets up if you haven't created any list.

So, the vst3's don't show in the list when you add an insert ?

Make a new custom plugin list in the plugin manager. That's what the thing is for. Simply exchange the vst2 for the vst3 versions in that custom list, and they will show up when you add an insert.

Btw : You can simply copy your default list and only change the few vst2/vst3 versions around in that new one. Should be a few seconds work.

This can happen when you update from an older version : a lot of settings are migrated, and this doesn't always goes correctly. Every new Cubase version you will see posts about this on the SB forums.

I finally upgraded to 12. It seems with more polish GUI. I have several problems, but can't say all because of Steinberg.

Anyway, I still have my license of Groove Agent with the dongle. Is there any way to transfer it to the new system?
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Post

Full Groove Agent is still on the old system alas. I am sure over time current Products will be moved.

I have uninstalled GA but it seems some references to the old content still not removed! So I have this error every time I start C12. Oh and this error with Korg Wavestation! I think I need to update the Software Pass and see.
GA Error in C12.jpg

Anyway, I think I will wait for future updates before using C12. Thanks for the confirmation about GA :)

You alas need to use Steinberg Library Manager to move the content.

Is anyone happy with "Raiser"? I put it against Maximizer (in any mode) from Ozone and so far Raiser is pumping or distorting way faster than Maximizer. Sometimes even basic Brickwall Limiter works better than Raiser :)
I feel like they wasted time doing another plugin that can't compete with 3rd party plugins.
Another one is Squasher which can generate clicks and other ugly artifacts with quick attack/release, where other plugins of that type don't (I'm not using it, just result of tests out of curiosity).
FX Modulator is nice but manual envelope/curve creation is super limited: snap to 1/32 in 16step bar doesn't exist, you can't resize window, available parameters are very limited. It's not like those features like exposing other parameters are extremely hard to add.
Same like with their other plugins where LFO in bpm mode has 1/1 as the slowest speed.
Frequency 2 still doesn't have all filters that Channel EQ has + interface is very archaic.
The list could go on.

I don't get it. Why Steinberg is keeping making half-finished stock plugins? What is the point?
Many years ago I stopped hoping that next Cubase version will bring good stock plugins. It's just workflow improvements that keep me interested.

Totally agree.
Companies should realize that Studio One became popular with user friendly workflow despite average plugins.
In Cubase there is still no m4a support, trackpad pinch zoom support, Mac full screen support, can not clear recent files at one go, no piano roll range tool.. the list goes on.

Post

Is there a vertical mouse wheel zoom yet?

And can 12 be sold online by users?

zvenx wrote: Fri Apr 22, 2022 11:09 pm Ahhh.. got ya.. so it doesn't put ALL in the list, just the vst2 ones?
odd.
anyway let me add that to the report.
rsp

I got a response..
tl;dr..
it works just like the pro.
"When VST3 and VST2 have the same ID, Cubase (all versions: Pro, Artist, Elements AI and LE all use the same VST scanner and rules) will only show the VST3 version.
Largo and z3ta+ 2 have different VST2/VST3 IDs and are both shown.

As the VST2 sorting follows the folder structure and VST3 sorting follows the category assigned to the plugin by the Vendor, the VST2 and VST3 versions might appear in different folders of the Default Collection"
