So the default "target" mechanic - understood.
If only there would be a multi-stage system that is actually (more) affordable. I boggles my mind why these tools still need to cost beyond 700USD.

What is the software you are referring to for example?Compyfox wrote: Fri Jan 14, 2022 12:05 pm So the default "target" mechanic - understood.

There were a couple on the market that did "multi-stage" handling. Most of them went belly-up.
As of this moment, Nugen Audio is (not surprising) in the lead still with AMB (successor to LMB, 1700EUR + VAT with the DynApt module) and LM Correct 2 with the DynApt add-on (which is 500EUR + VAT). I fully understand the pricing here, as these are mostly very special tasks that need absolute precision. However, competition would be nice.
Or maybe some more open education how to pull off normalization and/or "dynamic compression" (for LRA, SLk and MLk) with whatever tools we have already at our disposal. Maybe with more hoop jumping, maybe with an offset. But isn't this how Loudness Meter started - because of the education factor?

Indeed. Not sure in what direction the loudness meter will be in the long run, but I have to check every feature for the benefit/work ratio. My LM is, after all, $47 with lifetime free updates, and adding something that will benefit a small number of people and require a huge amount of work would be a bad business decision.Compyfox wrote: Sat Jan 15, 2022 3:29 am There were a couple on the market that did "multi-stage" handling. BTW, I already have feature requests for the next 2 years of working.

Mr. Youlean,
I have deleted the settings file in order to reset the plugin. However, version 2.4.3 (latest) doesn't seem to save any of my settings. For example, I want target loudness to be -12 LUFS, not the default -24. So I change it to -12, hit the 'X' button, and upon reloading the plugin, it defaults back to -24. Is there a save button that I must use? I was under the impression that the plugin would retain settings as I change them, no? Thanks for any assistance.
BTW: I love the pro Youlean Loudness Meter, but the game is hard!

You need to turn on the "remember app settings" option in the advanced settings.2:43AM wrote: Thu Mar 24, 2022 2:32 amMr. Youlean,

Thanks for the reply! Upon inspection, the parameter is called "REMEMBER APP SESSION," but it is grayed out, and I cannot modify it. It seems to be stuck in the unchecked status. I'm sure that's the correct parameter to which you have mentioned, so any further advice? Thanks.Youlean wrote: Sun Mar 27, 2022 12:09 am You need to turn on the "remember app settings" option in the advanced settings.![]()

This is a setting for the standalone app only. Sorry, I misunderstood your question.2:43AM wrote: Fri Apr 01, 2022 12:48 pmThanks for the reply! You can create a custom preset and set it as a default preset by holding shift and clicking on the preset.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

This update gave me a lot of headaches. Every time I tried to release it, I discovered one critical bug, and that was happening for the last couple of months.

The good thing is that it's now finished!

This update is a BETA, but it will be open for everyone to test it out. Here are some of the features that are introduced:
Added loudness normalization with a smart assistant
Added preset infobox
Added new custom preset system
Added APP audio passthrough
I must say, that I am really proud of the normalization feature. It is super useful, and it is smart too. For example, if the target can not be hit, it will tell you, if there is no enough dynamic in the audio, it will tell you, if you messed up the settings, it will tell you too!

Also, it is super accurate! It will normalize and then verify the result. This is a super important step needed to be done in order to be sure that normalization is correct.

I tried to be clever and designed an algorithm that will normalize without the verification to double the speed, but it worked 99.9% of the time. This was unacceptable to me, so I rewrote the whole thing again to be 100% time correct!

Anyway, I am super excited for you to try this update! The best loudness meter is getting even better!

Let me know your thoughts and tell your friends who are waiting for the normalization feature.

BTW, Netflix has added Youlean Loudness Meter as one of the recommended meters for their content delivery. Super proud of that too!

Just emailed you, but will post here too:
Something's off with the new version in latest REAPER, latest Win 11 64, VST3, 225% Windows scaling. Not all of the meter is shown, the right side and the bottom are cut off, with no apparent way to get them back. I went back to 2.4.3 for now.
