Likewise - I'll never get a real VCS3. I'll never know exactly what a real VCS3 sounds like, though I've heard it on countless albums and songs. It just has to sound similar to a VCS3 for me to want one and to buy one - even just a nearly one will sound unlike any other synth. I really don't give a flying f**k if it's identical. My TD3 is really not a clone but it definitely sounds like a 303 - TBH it sounds better because it's got a lovely non-original distortion on it that improves it and I have yet to hear a s/w distortion that I like. My MonoPoly probably doesn't match a Korg MonoPoly, but it sounds enough like one to absolutely enthrall me. My 2600 - TBH I don't care if it sounds nothing on earth like a real 2600 - it does things none of my other synths do and it has all the actual functions of a 2600 but with lights on it at 1/10 of the price - what's not to like?. The Wasp - apparently does sound like a real one, but again - I don't actually care because its filters are just beautiful - downright filthy, all on its own.
He can sell me a VCS1.5 and I'll be more than happy.
