That's pretty much how I talked myself into getting one. To me, this is more than just a drum machine, it's like a complete modular system.
In fact, I've cleared all my usual gear off my desk. All that's on it now is the Pulsar-23. I'm totally focusing on this for the next while.
Here's a little snippet from today's jam where I finally started to use the kick channel as a kick and not a drone:

neither of you need not justify anything to me!
we love what we love and if we can afford them all the better!!
just for a drum machine with extras, even lots of extra! it's not for me to be spending that kind of money on personally.
take the shared system, id love one, and with what ive spent over years could easily have got one. but me having that kind of money in one lump, im gonna need a rich relative to die first
not that im not equally happy with where ive ended up in my system, probably more so really, as ive picked relevant pieces for me
soma do make some f**king cool shit though!

Oh yeah, for sure. Not really justifying, just offering some context. Everytime I went to the Perfect Circuit show room over the last year, I've been drawn to the Pulsar-23 and ended up playing with it for far too long. I'm glad I could finally bring one home. Too much fun.vurt wrote: Thu Apr 28, 2022 6:38 pm neither of you need not justify anything to me!

Oh and I do plan to release some new morphagene reels in the near future. Maybe this weekend, if I remember. No Pulsar reels yet but I'm sure that will come. I have a lot of sampling to do with this thing.

And they're showing a new synth at Superbooth next month. All I know so far is the name: TERRA.
I was all set to pick up a RoAT once they came into stock but now it doesn't make much sense to get one so soon after the Pulsar. I still have a lot to learn here.

I never thought the Pulsar wasn't worth the money, just that it was a lot and easy to resist because I don't have the scratch. Well, I do it's just too soon for me after spending nearly twice it's cost on a new guitar and amp, also I have the S2400, I need to get better with that before I go buying any other drum things.
*Of course, I did actually buy another drum sampler with the Sonicware Smpltrek, but that one
wasn't expensive.

Note to self, do not try a Pulsar-23 if I get the chance, and also don't watch any YouTube videos about it.justin3am wrote: Thu Apr 28, 2022 6:46 pm Everytime I went to the Perfect Circuit show room over the last year, I've been drawn to the Pulsar-23 and ended up playing with it for far too long. Yeah, my intent wasn't to be like "Well you better find the money!"pekbro wrote: Thu Apr 28, 2022 6:54 pm I never thought the Pulsar wasn't worth the money, just that it was a lot and easy to resist because I don't have the scratch. I feel really lucky that I get to use a lot of cool instruments and decide for myself what works. When I post in this thread, I do try to cut through some of the hype by keeping any comments within the context of how things work for me. I don't want to come across as a shill or a braggart, if you know what I mean (not that anyone here does that!).
I'd like to hear more about the S2400, do you have any recordings?
Some might find this weird, but I get really excited for other people when they post here with new toys. I love hearing other people's perspectives.

Bought a cheap used 8hp micro Rings. Interested to pair it with the 2hp Pluck I have.
I’ve tried to minimise the number of digital modules, but I’ve been doing a lot of modulation in hardware and don’t want to use up all my inputs to my VCV Rack in my DAW on that.
Even second hand prices on reverb have leapt up. Used to regularly see things like the Disting mk4 around the £100 mark, now generally well over £130. Got the long weekend off to evaluate what hardware to sell. Think the TR-8S is first up. Never sold hardware before so need to dip my toe in the water.
What do you guys on here that sell stuff recommend for packing do’s and don’ts?
Anyone used reverb for selling? Gone with their delivery options?
Can I set it to only sell within the UK? I really do not want to deal with sending anything through the current customs nightmare we created for ourselves. Thanks, the 52 per cent, great work, well done.
