Glad to see Brazil mentioned a few times, I was watching that tonight, one of the few DVDs I (as opposed to the family) have bought.

Haven't seen 'Mulholland drive' mentioned, loved it even though I had to go to the net afterward to find out what the hell it meant... Haven't seen Lynch's Dune yet, must check it out, loved the book...

I remember really liking Roman Polansky's 'Tess' (of the D'Urbervilles) when I was a teenager... just a thought that came to me

Gotta say LOTR, looking forward to the extended edition of ROTK, out soon...

Cheater! I had to see it about three or four times before I understood most of it!

Forever,

Kim.

I was presumptuous enough to think I knew what it meant, and went online to see if I was right. I was in fact totally wrong.

I dont think I would have worked it out by myself at all....

Amelie - this is by far my favourite film, for many different reasons, though mainly due to the great feeling you get after watching it. It really is the sweetest film you could ever watch.

Battle Royale - Beat Takeshi appears in a few of my favourite Japanese films, but this is by far the best - lord of the flies with guns.

Ringu - As psychological horrors go, this is hard to beat really, i never liked the sequel much and never bothered watching the prequel Ring 0.

Fargo - really sweet film, Millers Crossing is getting a lot of mentions here, it's one of the few Coen films i haven't seen, along with Hudsucker Proxy.

Empire Strikes Back - Well, one of the star wars films has to be in my list. Jedi was too childish with the Ewoks, while New Hope is just as good, it just doesn't have Yoda.

Evil Dead 2 - I'm a big Sam Raimi fan, have seen most of the films, including the dreary Darkman 3. Evil Dead 1 was great as a horror flick, but this is far superior with the black comedy elements.

Bubba Ho-Tep - The best Elvis/JFK vs Egyptian Mummie film you'll ever see.

Blade Runner - I've never seen the happy ending version, as i believe i've only seen the director's cut version. I think this is probably Ford's best film, easily Daryl Hannah's (though she was great in Kill Bill) and possibly Ridley Scott's best film too, as i personally prefer this to Alien.

The Royal Tenebenbaums - Rushmore was great, and has a similar downbeat tone, but Gene Hackman is amazing in this film, along with Ben Stiller, and the amazing Bill Murray.
