Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Isn't Omnisphere very sample dependent? If the best presets use samples, isn't it the samples that holds the quality and not the synth then? But I don't know, I don't own Omnisphere :)

DUNE 3 would get my vote I believe, even though I don't use it that much.

Isn't Spire trying to emulate the Virus sound?
The manual says it's inspired by hardware. No mention which hardware, but, yeah, the Infecto filter is definitely inspired by the Virus filter, and, I think it has a lot of that character, and the JP-8k's as well.

It's not an emulation by any stretch though.

What are you trying to say? Omnisphere is best synth ever. So juicy and delicious, better than a pineapple and tuna hot-pocket!

people write about synths, without spending a minute with them. weird

If I remember the story correctly, it was developed by a Russian guy who wanted to launch an original hardware synth of his own, but later decided to release the code as a synth plug-in.

One of the LP filters is inspired by the filter in the Virus A/B.

do you mean the guy that said 'isnt omnisphere mostly samples'?

dont think theres much wrong with talking about a synth that other people are talking about even though you havent used it, especially as theres no demo for omni

there are a lot of people who say omnis a rompler, its not just a rompler though

You should not forget to honor the heads, the people behind the sounds. Many presets in Omnisphere have been crafted by really gifted and musical people. For me that is the big difference compared with regular VSTs. Those sounds make it a real instrumement that doesn´t really have a competitor in its league.

maybe, for me kontakt is the best rompler because of the range of samples you can get for it (but o hate the interface) but i mean omni is more than just a rompler, its also one of the best synths ever

...To your ears, to my ears Dune 3 sounds far away better than Omni...fat and real synth, Omni is a Rompler [ such as Emulator III ] plus some synth stuff...Dune is a pure synth such a Oberheim, the breadth of sound, clarity and dynamic range of Dune III does not have Omnisphere as it is a Rompler with synthesis capabilities, make a comparison in your studio, compare them and you will prove me right. End of Story.

fair enough if you prefer the sound of dune but omni also having samples and not being a pure synth doesnt mean the synth part is any less good, dune can play samples too

Post

Yes, Omnisphere is not a rompler, it also has a synth engine.

Make a trust comparison in your studio, compare them and you will prove me right. Dune III sounds better than Omni, but Omni its a great Rompler.
