7digital - Good, bad, ugly?

I want to purchase some music online.
The Artist sent me to Spotify but it seems to be impossible to purchase without getting a Subscription.
Anyway, I found the Album I want is also hosted on 7digital. They have it as MP3 and 16-bit/44.1kHz FLAC.
There's quite a price difference.
320kbps MP3 + 320kbps M4A
€11,99
16-bit/44.1kHz FLAC
€17,49
The Album was released in 1985 on Vinyl and Cassette and re-released 27/12/2019. I can't find it on CD. Maybe it's just a digital re-release.
Is 7digital legit? I've read a few comments online and some say their FLAC files may just be up-sampled MP3s. Is it worth the extra cost to purchase FLAC in this case? I'd have to convert again in WaveLab to WAV.
Anything else I should be aware of? A better platform to purchase from?

This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

I've used 7digital a lot over the years. They stopped updating their homepage with new releases awhile ago, which, idk what that indicates but they use to list new releases.
One bit of advice that has come up a few times at least is to make sure you press previews of the songs of the album you want to buy, and if they don't play then don't buy that version as the files will not work if you purchase it. This happened to me a few times, but their support eventually did supply me with store credit. They often have a number of versions of the same album so if one doesn't work search for it and another might work, or be cheaper.
I use the Canadian version of it, though, so idk if it's similar to the U.S. or UK/European sites.
I can't necessarily attest to the legitimacy of them per se, but far as I could ever tell they are or were a legit company. I've never encountered viruses, or anything like that at least, and I'm talking thousands of downloads over the years.
Hope any of that helps. Hopefully others can chime in too, am also sort of curious myself. It is somewhat concerning that their homepage hasn't updated newly releases lp's in some time.
Think i bought Flac once (accidentally) and it was flac, far as i recall.

I don't know 7digital at all, but TBH I wouldn't be eager to pay the extra for the FLAC version, especially if you have to convert. I'm not a fan of crappy MP3s at all, but at 320kbps it keeps me happy with audio quality. What are you using that won't play FLACs?

Well I can play FLACs but if I wanted to put the music on a CD I'd have to burn WAVs. I can play MP3 off a stick on my ''boombox''. I'm thinking MP3 might be fine for such an old release. The original is about 37 years old.
I bought the LP on vinyl and twice on cassette but it hasn't been available for years. Not even from the Artists own website.
Seems the previews play OK.
Long Distance Runner
Original Track list
1 Werewolf
2 Wedding in Cherokee County
3 Frozen Heart
4 Long Distance Runner
5 It’s You
6 Voices
7 Love Like Blood
8 Down Without a Fight
9 Christmas in Capetown
10 Goodbye This Time
Yeah, I'll go for the MP3. Thanks for your input.

I usually buy my music at Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/Long-Distance-Ru ... B082XMW75B (Only streaming though)
The format is MP3, pretty high preset VBR, I think.

Thank you. I just purchased the MP3 from 7digital. They have PayPal checkout. The quality seems just fine to me.
