Can I just say how much I am looking forward to the next couple of weeks. I always love this time of year and look forward with eager anticipation to the times when all we can hear on the radio is....

Paul McCartney - Simply having a wonderful christmas time

Slade - I wish it could be christmas every day

and this year, of course, Band Aid - the new, and nothing at all like the other one - Feed the World (Don't get me wrong, I'm all for charity, but it seems that it would be far quicker and easier on the ears if all the artists who sang on it dipped into their own (deep) coffers first)

Oh, and of course if we're lucky we'll get endless playings of John and Yoko

So, which Christmas single makes you feel like a close relative of Ebeneezer Scrooge?

Post

John Lennon's 'So This Is Christmas'...

I found it depressing and joyous BEFORE Unicef got their hands on it.

Well...all the wanton greed, stuff mongering and parasitic commercialism this time of year is about enough to make me return to my own vomit...but yeah...any of those tunes fairly makes me want to gouge at the inside of my arms with a jagged spam tin lid.

That Scrooge enough for ya? :hihi:

My dad's got that on vinyl, and every year he pulls it out. In fact, he only uses his record player once a year for that.  :hihi:

Agreed - tell it to the DJ's on my local commercial station. If I hear Slade one more time I'm gonna rip the fuckin' knobs off the wireless.
Trying to change the world by posting on a forum is like crying on the Sun to put it out.
