For what I'm going for, I'm finding u-he's synths to be the best sounding.

Uhe synths are the best synths ever. Nothing sounds better than a Uhe synth.

I agree, Diva is a beast, Repro, Zebra & Hive 2, some of the best...I have them all, they sound awesome.

Your mistake is 'consideration' or your perception, and it doesn't work that way. Let me give you an example... when vinyl records were mastered in the 80's in the last phase for the Master, a person with 'ears' was in charge of doing it and knew that it would sound good, because they know how to listen to what sounds good. In your case, your ears are 'average' and you don't know what good sound is. Therein lies your problem. If you had to process a 'master' of a band that sounded good, you wouldn't really be able to do it, you have 'ears' for your taste, I have 'ears' to know what sounds good or not so good...which is not the same thing. Dune is superior in sonority to Spire...by far.

The appropriate answer to a troll on this scale is: No you are wrong. Dune sounds shite, you are a deaf c*nt and hence deaf c*nts cannot possibly be right about which synth sounds better. So c*nt off you trolling c*nt, as DT might say.

I don’t know about any ONE synth being the best sounding. So many companies seem to operate at such a high level. If you like virtual analog, then Diva or RePro are pretty top notch, but the Xils and Synapse Audio VAs are certainly nothing to dismiss. I love Dune 3, Zebra 2, Falcon, Spire, and Hive. I couldn’t tell you which one is better. I just reach for one when I’m kind of bored (or hit some wall) with another.

Not too many people talk about Serum anymore, but I got some free Serum preset packs from Noiiz, and Serum blew me away the other day. I like Serum, because it’s idiot proof. It makes me feel like I’m a really good programmer (I’m not). In the right hands Serum is as good as anything else out there. I don’t know if it’s better than the others though.

Dune 3 is another great synth because it’s so efficient. Their analog filters, and the various places where you can insert distortion is really clever. Don’t make me choose which one is best.
