Ok we've hit the 12 free level but this time I'm not seeing the 12th one showing on my Promos page. All the others were pretty much instantaneous when the level was reached.

I did log out and back in but no change. No telling what IK has muffed up this time.

By the way while posting in the threads on the Marketplace keeps them at the top thereby keeping the GB in the news it does disadvantage other members who are trying to sell there since they have to wait 48 hours to bump.

Just sayin'..... :shrug:

No it's not normal. Every other time a new level was reached the option to choose which one you wanted was added to our Promo page almost instantaneously.

I'm having the same problem here. The 12th freebie is not showing on the promo page.

IK muffed something up again and if I were to guess it might be because they ran out of room on one page and didn't foresee the option to add additional pages ? :?

No joy in IK Promos land today...

Yes see my edit above. IK has muffed something else up..... :dog:

With JamPoints and VAT (welcome EU ;p) - it's 40 EUR. Even if I take like 10 % of presets, then still, it's a great deal + with such variety of samples, different character (Digital / FM, Analog) there is a room to create some new presets, that I'll like. I prefer that, than another analog CPU hog vst synth.

Thanks for confirming. Glad it's not only me. I also tried logging in and out, closing browser, etc. Something wrong with the IK site, but this did not happen in the last GB even until the last tier, so I doubt it's about pages. Doesn't help the already reducing patience levels. :hihi:

I wanted to do the same thing I mentioned earlier for OXa with another instrument and see how it went. Anyway, will try later.

It's up now. :tu:

Up here now as well. :)

I realize this is somewhat subjective but now that I have all the new version 2 Synths, which of the classic v1 Synths are worth upgrading? I think I'm already covered with Arturia V collection 8 and Cherry Audio for the Roland and Moog stuff.

Post

Well I didn't get all the V2 synths yet and went right to upgrading several of the V1 synths like:

SY99
Blau
Galaxy
DCO-X
M-Poly
and just today the V80.

Next I might go for the J8. Some of the V2 synths will have to wait until the GB goes full 33.

I had the same question, but it doesn't matter much I think. Go by your intuition and select the ones that look/feel appealing to you and have more presets, which is what I am doing. I hardly know about the hardware counterparts anyway. Eventually, you might end up getting all. Let's hope for the GB to reach the final tier. :)

I got 99 and OXa first. Next will probably be the Roland ones or the ARP one.

I'm not rushing, I downloaded 1 of them and there were just a handful of new presets for the 7 gig download an install so unless you have the time and a lot of free HD space it may not be worth it unless you are going to make something with the samples oscillator waveforms.
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

How do you know how many additional presets (not waveforms) come with the updated V2 instruments?

LoveEnigma18 wrote: Tue May 03, 2022 9:53 am I just got Syntronik 2 OXa. The V1 version had only 1 download file while V2 has 3 files. Since V1 was already installed, IKM told that I need to install the 2 remaining files, which were pretty small (~ 100-200 MB).

So, I think there is no need to uninstall/delete any previously installed V1 instruments. Grab the V2 versions and download and install the files that are needed (IKM will tell that), so it saves both time and bandwidth.

I use a dedicated folder to install all the IK Multimedia sample-based products. I don't have SampleTank 3. This is how my folder looks like:

I had Syntronik (1) OXa already installed. So, when I downloaded Syntronik 2 using IK Product Manager, it only downloaded the 2 new files meant for Syntronik 2 version of OXa. I chose "Install to..." option and pointed to the above folder, like I always do. It installed in the existing OXa folder and I can see a "Syntronik 2" folder at this location, which contains the new presets:

Code: Select all

G:\IK Multimedia Content\Instruments\53__Syntronik OXa

Thank you, that's good to know. I did not think that that would work :)

So, just to be clear:
-- you already had the Syntronik (1) library installed?
-- your IKPM downloads folder was empty?
-- or, were the Syn1 download files for the synth still in that folder?
-- when you ran IKPM you set "Install to" to point to your existing library?
-- when you selected Install for the synth, only the 2 new .zip files were downloaded and installed?

Welcome. It worked as I expected it to. Great job, IKM. :)

So, just to be clear:
-- you already had the Syntronik (1) library installed? - yes
-- your IKPM downloads folder was empty? - yes
-- or, were the SYn1 download files for the synth still in that folder? - no
-- when you ran IKPM you set "Install to" to point to your existing library? - only to the main folder "IK Multimedia Content", not directly to the library itself
-- when you selected Install for the synth, only the 2 new .zip files were downloaded and installed? - yes

Please try this at your end if possible (for any synth) and let me know.

Check out Opil's post in the Market-place thread (on page 9).

Actually, I'll quote it here to bring the info together:

irvg wrote: Tue May 03, 2022 8:41 am I understand that for those that are not interested in sound design and just using it as a rompler, the low number of presets included with the V2 versions is disappointing, but for those that really want to tweak things, having even a few presets that offer all the waveforms in the editor is a huge improvement on V1, offering the ability to create unlimited presets for that synth. In my mind, that's a big reason to jump on these "free" V2 versions of the legacy synths, regardless of how many new presets are provided. All depends on your perspective.
Well for those using it as a rompler, the low number of presets concerns especially the 11 new synths not the 22 classics synths:

-99 = 155 V1 + 42 NEW =>197
-Bully = 100 V1 + 38 NEW =>138
-Blau = 90 V1 + 36 NEW =>126
-DCO-X = 79 V1 + 40 NEW =>119
-Galaxy = 79 V1 + the bonus contents released add 82 extra V1 presets + 39 NEW =>200
-Harpy = 94 V1 + 34 NEW =>128
-J-60 = 78 V1 + the bonus contents released add 44 extra V1 presets + 40 NEW =>162
-J-8 = 116 V1 + 41 NEW =>157
-M-Poly = 101 V1 + 36 NEW =>137 + 4 multi
-Memory-V = 147 V1 + 42 NEW =>189 + 4 multi
-Minimod = 143 V1 + 45 NEW =>188
-Noir = 125 V1 + 42 NEW =>167
-OXA = 126 V1 + 41 NEW =>167
-Polymorph = 86 V1 + 42 NEW =>128
-Pro-V = 87 V1 + the bonus contents released add 35 extra V1 presets + 40 NEW =>172
-SAM = 87 V1 + the bonus contents released add 83 extra V1 presets + 39 NEW =>199
-SH-V = 100 V1 + 37 NEW =>137 + 4 multi
-String box = 110 V1 + 39 NEW =>149
-T03 = 223 V1 + the bonus contents released add 2 :hihi: extra V1 presets + 100 NEW =>325
-V-80 = 102 V1 + 38 NEW =>140
-VCF3 = 106 V1 + 28 NEW =>134 + 4 multi

TOTAL => 3459 :hyper:

Lbdunequest wrote: Sat Apr 30, 2022 5:01 am I dont think these syntronik products are good because quality of presets as a total package is subpar and takes alot of space. Too much space for what you get. Something like Omnisphere takes around 55gb and has superior presets, majority of them are usable. Even kontant factory library is more usable. Freeware synths like surge tyrell obxd vital can offer so much more analogue goodness then this even on group sale. I see Syntronik as an illusion of having emulation.
Do you own syntronik or syntronik 2 or have you only tested the CS version :?:
