I dont understand why to have moog emulation and not add anythint to the table when there is The Legend.

The same can be said for Legend. Before they released Legewnd there were many software clones before Legend even existed. Everyone is entitled to their own vision and their own attempt.Lbdunequest wrote: Tue May 03, 2022 3:02 pm I dont understand why to have moog emulation and not add anythint to the table when there is The Legend.

Well The Legend did bring something new while this offering from Cherry Audio doesn't so I think that's what he's talking about.

IIRC The Legend has up to 8 voice poly and this one is up to 16. I will have to check it out myself to hear it’s sound and how it compares to the rest. Also it has a lower price than most of the others which of course some people will appreciate. Does The Legend have MPE? Not sure if it does.

You're right it does bring 8 more notes poly. Not much of a ground breaking enhancement but appreciated none the less.Examigan wrote: Tue May 03, 2022 3:35 pm IIRC The Legend has up to 8 voice poly and this one is up to 16. If someone doesn't already own a MiniMoog emu and is on a budget this might be an option.
There's a good chance development of The Legend will continue so that's something to keep in mind.
So The Legend at $99 with it's much enhanced feature set or MiniMode for $39. It will be up to the individual if one is worth $60 more than the other.
I don't own any MPE devices so don't pay much attention to support but I don't see any reference to it for The Legend. I thought it was added in a recent update but I could be mistaken.
But I believe development of The Legend is continuing so maybe it's on the todo list.

I like to follow advancements within a company. Companies like arturia, synapse, and so on...they are improving, and making better products. No offense to Cherry, but I really wanna see some real advancements in their software. Arturia redid the Jupiter with their new engine, and its awesome. I would like to see Cherry make some improvements, and bring in some new talent for their UI.

Exactly. I'd give their GUI quality a C- grade at best and all their synths are starting to have a bit of a generic sound quality to them.vertibration wrote: Tue May 03, 2022 4:21 pm I would like to see Cherry make some improvements, and bring in some new talent for their UI.
Still nice instruments especially for the price but like you said there is some room for improvement.

As the ancient Moogs have comparable architectures, they could recreate all Moog models up the year 1987.vurt wrote: Tue May 03, 2022 4:56 pm what exactly does bob moog appreciation month, entail?

So far we have beside the Minimode, the Polymode, the Memorymode, the Rackmode, the Surrealistic MG-1, the VM 900 collection of modules.
Missing is the Micromoog, the Taurus, the Prodigy…
Lyra and Apollo are less known…
And the Vocoder is also not there yet…

You like your analogue emulations. You like the minimoog. You like when a minimoog is accurately emulated. Well... every real minimoog sounds and responds slightly differently. So... an even more accurate emulation would be to have slightly different sounding models. Perhaps this is where having different minimoog emulaions has value? Every new minimoog emulation is like getting a new minimoog in your studio to add to your virtual minimoog collection. Gotta fuel that GAS somehow!

Exactly! The Legend and Monark model completely different MiniMoog units. One is tame, the other -aggressive sounding. Each analog unit, be it a synth or an effects pedal, has it's own sonic character.plexuss wrote: Tue May 03, 2022 6:36 pm You like your analogue emulations. You like the minimoog.
