...and along those lines...I just picked up the Scheps Omni and EMI TG12345. The highs on the TG really are honey-like, though I needed additional help with taking out some mud for vocals. The Omni - wow. Really nice on vocals, and the de-essing stage was quite a nice surprise.

Oh that's a really good grab. Those Deessers can act as effective general subtractive eq bands when not on deesing duties. The cool thing here is, if it was the way you wanted to go, is that you can set up a default or a setting with the TG as the insert.

My favourite channel strip is the 9000K V2 from Solid State Logic...

It is the most inspiring and productive plugin that I have ever used...
No auto tune...

I think the best thing about the Scheps Omni channel is just how efficient it is to use. I've sung it's praises a lot since using it on a project where I couldn't use my UAD plug ins as I was sharing projects back and forth. I just find it really quick to work with, really flexible and the sound is very usable.

Every channel strip should have these:
  • hpf, lpf - with adjustable slope
  • multiple compressor types
  • limiter
  • different eq curve options at different frequencies
  • saturation - though this is where I feel it could be slightly better

If so makes me look forward to trying it - I grabbed it in their essentials bundle sale a couple of weeks ago. Not that I needed another channel strip... :hihi:

Yes...that is the one...

You may have thought you didn't need another channel strip until you start using that SSL 9000K :)
No auto tune...
