How do you know how many additional presets (not waveforms) come with the updated V2 instruments?

I understand that for those that are not interested in sound design and just using it as a rompler, the low number of presets included with the V2 versions is disappointing, but for those that really want to tweak things, having even a few presets that offer all the waveforms in the editor is a huge improvement on V1, offering the ability to create unlimited presets for that synth. In my mind, that's a big reason to jump on these "free" V2 versions of the legacy synths, regardless of how many new presets are provided. All depends on your perspective.

Extremely useful, thanks. interestingly I was going to get VCF3 next but just 29 new presets , they really didn't bother making many new pre-sets for V1 to V2 upgraders did they!!

It will be great if we all end up getting Syntronik 2 Max when this thing is finished, but I guess that we'll see what happens.

Yes, I have some IK products from before and am aware of their download policy.

This wont take me long to decide at all, I'm just waiting on the final results and as soon as I see them, then I will go ahead and download.

I'm hoping to download the entire package, Syntronik 2 Max, but that depends on how this group buy concludes, so that's why I'm just waiting a little bit until it ends.

I dont think these syntronik products are good because quality of presets as a total package is subpar and takes alot of space. Too much space for what you get. Something like Omnisphere takes around 55gb and has superior presets, majority of them are usable. Even kontant factory library is more usable. Freeware synths like surge tyrell obxd vital can offer so much more analogue goodness then this even on group sale. I see Syntronik as an illusion of having emulation.

What I notice when loading a Syntronik preset, is that the effects quality inherant in T-Racks, is migrated to Syntronik sounds, and the result is mostly very full and complete presets, that will need little if any modification to be useful. The products you mention are all good, but are not direct competitors of Syntroniks core use case,
making the heavy, troublesome, outdated but classic hardware, appear in our ears and ready to appear in new music, at a fraction of the sundry hardware costs.
I hope the GB reaches the max, so fewer kids will ask, 'Daddy, whats a moog?'!

I want to thoroughly test the 11 new synths and revisit some of the old ones before I install anything else. I had a problem with the Part3 and Part4 zip files for Syner-V. There is an extra Syntronik 2 Sound Content folder in these zip files that prevents the IK product manager from extracting the samples. Ended up using the manual installers for that instrument.

That aside, everything else installed smoothly and I'm really hoping we get to 33.

Anyway I already got a corrupted Multi that crashed Cakewalk and FL Studio. I finally managed to get it to load but it's not the way I saved it so....corrupted.

I notice the Multi files can be a little large in size. The one in question is over 9 megs in size. I doubt very much any sample data is saved in the Multi so not sure why they should be so large.

Not a big deal but sharing Multis is going to be harder due to the size.

Back to the number of presets thing. There certainly is miscommunication on IKMs part here. They say XXX number of presets, but deliver YYY. Especially noticable on the newer instruments. EG. Syner-V actually comes with something closer to 92 actual presets. The product page says "213 instrument presets"? Yes... there are extra samples included, and I suppose one 'could' generate 213 presets using them. Actually... one could create a boatload more than 213 presets with the included samples... but someone purchasing the Syner-V, might actually be expecting 213 pre-packaged, setup, presets. Not 92. Weak sauce. The M-12, and Megawave also ship with a little more than 1/2 the presets that are advertized on their product pages. Again -- the preset counts are overstated, or IKM hasnt got around to shipping and linking all their planned presets yet. I assumed (incorrectly) that the installer had failed, so I manually downloaded the DMG files (Im on a Mac) and re-installed the various packages. Made no difference.

My early two cents on the products. There are some fricken excellent tones you can get out of these instruments. By themselves or layered and stacked with one another. Turning a Mono or Legato patch to Poly is a simple click - and maybe because these are sample-based.. but you dont lose timbre girth, like you do in a 'real' synth. EG. If I convert an OB-6 Mono patch to Multi.. The timbre loses the stacking, phasing, and complexity of the multiple stacked oscillators. With these sample-based synths - they just become polyphonic, with the same underlying tones. <cool beans>. The other super hit (for me) are the effects. There are gems in here, and between pulling in samples from the various synths, applying filters across them, then dusting them with the included effects... there is some extremely (extremely) capable timber generation at hand.

So.. will I end up using Syntronik 2 more than I ever *cough* never *cough* used Syntronik? Absolutely. There are wrinkles to be worked out in the install process, and the product pages really should be updated with more truthful preset counts. However - at the end of the day, I am totally planning on creating and using Syntronik 2 patches in my hybrid setup. Syntronik 1... Hoping that IKM will provide an "uninstall all" feature soon. That stuff is just taking up valuable SSD space..

I realize this is somewhat subjective but now that I have all the new version 2 Synths, which of the classic v1 Synths are worth upgrading? I think I'm already covered with Arturia V collection 8 and Cherry Audio for the Roland and Moog stuff.

I had the same question, but it doesn't matter much I think. Go by your intuition and select the ones that look/feel appealing to you and have more presets, which is what I am doing. I hardly know about the hardware counterparts anyway. Eventually, you might end up getting all. Let's hope for the GB to reach the final tier.

I got 99 and OXa first. Next will probably be the Roland ones or the ARP one.

Open Syntronik 2 app and in the preset browser you can select "Generation" as Syntronik 2 and you will only see V2 presets.

EDIT: You can also see them in "Syntronik 2" folder that gets installed in the instruments (presets) folder of the instrument.

I also had a crash in FL Studio, probably with a multi only, yesterday. Not able to reproduce it again, so I will ignore it for now.
