Rift's unusual distortion approach also makes it worthwhile to check out (and the OG Trash, if you haven't taken a look).

If you mainly work with vocals, Madrona Labs' Virta is one of the most far out vocoder-ish effects out there.

The mangling possibilities of the free Soundhack pack are endless.

And if you use Effect Grid with the right combination of other plugins you can also do some pretty deep mangling.

I dont know Virta but will have a look - the others I know and agree with, particularly the new effect grid - it is such a powerful little utility.

Political pain? Is the plugin “woke?” Does it think Trump won the last election?

Stunningly good, indeed. :phones:

I totally agree with previous mentions of Minimal Audio's Rift 2.0 distortion multi-effect. Feed it a basic saw wave or some synth bass and Rift will add gritty attitude and highly-programmable rhythmic grooves. The morphing filters have such a great sound! https://www.minimal.audio/products/rift

Aberrant DSP's Digitalis brings nostalgia and proper FSU back to plug-in folders everywhere. I didn't think that I would end up using it as much as I do. But it sounds great as an experimental tool with a spectral filtering PaintBox, pitch and formant shifting, and downsampling effects. It also has an excellent repeater with Rhythm Glitch and Pitch Glitch controls which allow you to customize your patterns. It's also inexpensive for how fun it is to use. https://aberrantdsp.com/plugins/digitalis/

As good as those two are, I absolutely must include MagicDelay by GS-DSP. This "multi-curve spectral delay with a built-in modulation system" lets you "easily and quickly create separate delay times per frequency, or ranges of frequencies. Mix them, modulate them, spread them, run wild, and create original beautiful delays to enrich your sounds." This plug-in is a must for sound designers and delay enthusiasts. It's different from Melda's spectral delay and is easy to use with minimal tweaks necessary to design some of the most exotic-sounding delays I've heard. It's $74.74 when not on sale, but they offer a fully functional demo without any signing up. Do check it out! https://gs-dsp.com/products/magicdelay/

I’m totally unaware. I really like B2, but that’s all I own from them. I tried Kaleidoscope and I was unable to get it to run well, even with my current machine, which is pretty great. I need something that can run in real time on a 128 sample size buffer.
