Massive X 1.6.1 update (September 2025)!

I really hope so and that this isn't it because to me it seems more like a conscious decision to only work on improving the browsing experience for NI created content, I can't see why they couldn't have made tagging available to users as well as factory sound designers (who obviously do have access to this).

You need to click on the user icon (to the right in the search bar)

btw anyone can do tagging in Komplete Kontrol (or Maschine) and that does now show up at least in the new browser, but you still can't organise patches into banks.

As aMUSEd said it doesn't support user banks. In the past I used "character" tag in KK for tagging my banks and here's how they show up in the new browser. Hopefully NI will address this issue in the future update.

I was excited for a second to see control sensitivity setting. But tried it and doesn't fix the touch screen issues at all. Only plugin that just can't be used at all with touch or a surface pen. Their other plugins that had this issue even have a touchscreen mode in settings for if necessary, but they somehow still can't add that to Massive X. Ridiculous.

What are the issues? I don't use touch screen myself but am curious to know

As soon as you adjust the control in any direction, it goes to max or min in that direction you're moving. It's pretty much impossible to make any actual adjustments. This was the case for some plugins, I guess that use a certain UI framework, I dunno. Like the classic reverbs had this issue for a while, and then they added touch screen mode in settings, which made the controls respond normally to touch. I get the sense their developers for different products don't talk to each other at all, or use the same tools at all.aMUSEd wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 8:53 pm What are the issues? This is great
I almost accepted that it would stay without any progress, but I'm glad that my anticipation was wrong
Big hope for a "midi learn" function for the parameters

Timeframes and milestones... Again, incremental development at play.aMUSEd wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 8:00 pm I really hope so and that this isn't it because to me it seems more like a conscious decision to only work on improving the browsing experience for NI created content, I can't see why they couldn't have made tagging available to users as well as factory sound designers (who obviously do have access to this).
Sound designers for NI soundbanks also use KK or Maschine to tag things. There are no hidden modes to do this directly in MX.

All of the recent NI releases use the Qt graphical framework (starting with Mod Pack onward). Touchscreen mode is of course possible, but it's mostly a matter of prioritization.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 8:59 pmAs soon as you adjust the control in any direction, it goes to max or min in that direction you're moving.
